Ahoy shmuppers,
recently I obtained a very affordable Japanese Gamecube with a region switch. It came with a composite cable, which works fine on my parent's TV, but my own PAL TV requires 60hz video to be in RGB, otherwise it'll be in black & white.
Now, I've done some basic research on getting RGB from a Japanese 'Cube, I found several GC RGB cables but apparently only EU GC's output RGB on the analog output (why, nintendo, why???). I have this faint memory of a RGB cable that can be plugged into the digital output, but I haven't been able to find much info (my total lack of knowledge on the GC is detrimental).
Anyone have info?

Getting RGB from a Japanese GC
...and suddenly, a very freaky wormhole opened, and 4 3-foot tall market analysts fell out...

Yes, you can make such a cable.Dave_K. wrote:As far as I knew, you can hack (or buy a pre-hacked) digital video cable which outputs 15khz RGB.
Here is the link to a guide of how to do it.

P.S. - I don't have to time to try this yet, but I think it should work.
I myself got one hacked to output VGA when the GameCube is in Progressive Scan mode.
The pinout of Europe PAL GameCube output RGB on the analog port. Most of the scrat cables you can found is for the Europe PAL GameCube, they won't work on Japanese/American NTSC model.Dave_K. wrote: Never herd about RGB on an analog port.
*Meow* I am as serious as a cat could possible be. *Meow*
