Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
Christ, $95 for an XM29 and you're hesitating? There's a guy selling some XP29's without even having seen them for $900 a piece in another thread. Is it like a 6+ hour round trip away or something?

Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
I would slap that person's face with the $95 dollar bills and run as fast as I could with the NEC:)...
mvsfan wrote:Theres an Nec XM2960 for sale on my local craigslist im thinking about getting.
the price is right the guy wants $95 for it.
Its kinda far though and if for some reason i dont get it ill post it here.
my question is, what should i look for? ive heard that these monitors arent quite as sharp as a PVM, but how can i notice that from say the monitor being worn out? i guess it should just look like a good tv right?

Jesus if that showed up near me for $100 I'd be at the dude's house, cash in hand, while calling him.

If anyone's in California, it might be worth checking these out: http://hgpauction.hibid.com/auctions/cu ... Sony&cat=0
If they're good, please don't just scalp them on eBay. There's so much of that lately

I just grabbed a JVC TM-H1950cg off eBay (there's still another up). I hope it's in as good shape as the 150cg I got last year cause I'm psyched for 19" vertical shmup action.

This would be a pretty good deal if working. This seller just sells pretty much everything as untested so there is a solid chance. One left as of posting.

It only has the SDI inputs though, so mind that.

looks like a rebranded DT-V. Should work with a DIY JVC RGB card.Einzelherz wrote:It only has the SDI inputs though, so mind that.

Look at the on-screen menu on the top one though....that's messed up. I've had a bunch of JVC's and although their menu's are a golden/yellow (maybe orange-ish just a little bit) that one doesn't look normal at all. I would pass.Steamflogger Boss wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ikegami-HTM1700 ... OSwPK1ZUZv~

Yeah that was my assumption. I figured if the screen was that buggered it wouldn't work at all.Ryoandr wrote:might just be shutter speed too high to properly capture screenDochartaigh wrote:Look at the on-screen menu on the top one though....that's messed up. Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
If it was me buying, I'd want to just meet in person to test. Of course you'd need an SDI modded dvd player or something else with SDI out to test.
Also the seller did properly list it as for parts so buying on eBay you would be out the money. Even if they'd take a return it'd be pretty pointless due to shipping each way. Something to keep in mind.

Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
I'd probably take the chance id it didn't involve GSP shipping across the atlantic. For the price listed I can only assume the monitor would be wrapped in nothing more than a big shopping bag.

Yes Ikegami HTM1700R and Panasonic BT-H1700 are rebranded DT-V1700/10CG.Ryoandr wrote:Steamflogger Boss wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ikegami-HTM1700 ... OSwPK1ZUZv~

Those plasmas are perfect but I wonder if the fixed pixels can handle resizing 4:3 width on different consoles like a CRT.
I really like a full screen image that is stretched properly without underscan noise.

It does not resize on its own at least. The Saturn in particular leaves a black area on each side of the image. [Corrected further down by Fudoh]Hoagtech wrote:Those are sweet and the listing is ended.citrus3000psi wrote:Pioneer PDP V402 Plasma just popped on ebay in the US.

I sold it to a gentleman in the Bay Area who put down a deposit and is picking it up end of the month. We both agreed to take the transaction off eBay to save on fees.
I have one more, but I'm kind of banking on finding a Megalo 410 and using it in that.

Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
I had never heard of this monitor until this post, so researched and ran across Fudoh's rundown of it. Sounded awesome so I called a bunch of video production companies in the area. Closest I got was a place that said they used to have 3 of them, but 2 of them died over time and the 3rd they recycled--this was 4 years ago. Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
you can do this by changing the phase/clock settings. Not ideal in terms of a 1:1 pixel mapping, but from a little distance it's ok and enough if the vertical mapping is spot on (which it is automatically except for PAL sources).but I wonder if the fixed pixels can handle resizing 4:3 width on different consoles like a CRT.

How much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking? I thought the D32, new, was like $30,000.00 or something like that (I could never find a Sony price list for these...I know the people I got my BVM-20F1U from said it was $12,000.00 back in 2004 or something like that).SNK-NEO-GEO wrote:"Sony BVM-D32E1WU $5,999.00 + $299.00 flat-rate freight shipping

Re: Professional/Broadcast monitor hunting.
I got a user on shmups who hit me up who lives in DC.
He is looking for a large professional monitor like the Mitisibishi megaviews and such.
I was wondering if anyone in the area could help him find a large CRT monitor?
his username is Dragon89o
