Hi
My gf just got her old Super Famicom out from storage (in great condition), we plugged it in with an RGB-scart cable, but there is a strange thing happening on the TV.
The picture has jagged edges on the top of the sides and flickers just a tiny bit from time to time (a few times per 10 seconds).
I tried with the audio/video cables (Yellow/red/white) but it's the same thing except a worse overall picture of course.
Strange thing is that the picture is pixel perfect in the middle of the screen, then goes a bit worse as it moves to the bottom too.
TV is a European Samsung UE55HU7505, so it's pretty new.
Btw, it's not the aspect ratio, i've tested 16:9 and 4:3 and the result is the same.
TV's Game mode on/off also have no affect.
See pics below...
Does anyone have an idea?

Zoom in your eyes to see the top sides and how it smooths out in the middle and the goes a bit blurry in the bottom.

That's due to the TV I'm sure, see the results I had when trying the Super Famicom on my Samsung plasma: http://i.imgur.com/2WD4lUj.jpg
Maybe those TVs choke on that nonstandard 60.1 Hz rate the SFC outputs?

That looks like the the exact same thing as i am having.
I wonder what we can do about it?
Perhaps there's a conversion box of some sort, or a TV setting we are missing?

I used the composite cables (Video/red/white) into the XRGB-mini Framemeister and changed the HDMI_Output to 1080p 60Hz
This helped a great deal.
The flickering is down to just a hair and the edges and texts are much more aligned.
Still some shadowing, soft edges and minor flicker.
The problem is definitely the Super Famicom 60.1 Hz not being compatible with my European Samsung TV.
I wonder if there's an update to the XRGB-mini so we can set it at 60.1Hz, that would probably do the trick.
*edit* Or maybe an update to the TV....
Next problem is getting the RGB signal into the Framemeister.
Not sure how that will work.

If you got a FM, why would you want to plug your SFC into the TV directly anyway ?
With activated V-Sync the Mini's output will follow the input refresh rate 100%.
To use EU-RGB cables on your FM you need a EU-SCART to Mini-Din adapter replacement or an additional EU-SCART to JP-SCART adapter.

I tried turning it on/off, no real change.
Though i read somewhere that the OFF switch doesn't always work?
The RGB cable made the picture so nice and sharp, but if i can get that with the FM, that would be amazing. i will try your adapter method.
I still don't understand why the picture gets less buggy with FM sending out 60Hz instead of 50Hz, when the picture bugs were worse when plugged into the TV scart connector at the SFC's original 60.1Hz.
Is it the TV Scart that input that can't handle the 60.1Hz?
Thanks for the adapter suggestion!

Is it this one?

Or should it be one with a sync-stripper?

My Wega TV Is picky with certain non standard arcade board syncs. It wont display them.
SFC works fine though on it.
Its just the tv being too picky. Those boards worked fine on an old 32" sylvania from the 90s i had before the wega.
most tvs are designed to still pick up the sync if its a bit off standard.
It sounds like Yours wants it right on standard.
