It does mentions:
ATARI GAMES VIDEO STANDARDS
though...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't most Arcace shooters, NEOGEO & CPS-1/2, use the same also?

No various systems use various resolutions.
I know CPS2 has got a differing resolution.
NEO GEO has got pretty low resolution.
Seibu has different Resolution.

I guess the standard resolution for arcade games is 320 X 240, right?

*waiting for someone to set this straight as I am more curious than the thread poster*

Well, it does state "ATARI GAMES VIDEO STANDARDS" so I guess these resolutions are referred to the weird looking Arcade Atari resolutions.
In most 80's Atari Arcades, the perspective looks like shit imo.

But anybody with a more knowledgeable background on this subject, is welcomed to post his facts.

I love the resolution in IREM’s M72/82/92 arcade hardware. The game pixels look very sharp!
These games in particular:
(R-Type 2, R-Type LEO, Gallop - Armed Police Unit / Hammerin' Harry, X-Multiply, Air Duel, In The hunt, Under Cover Cops)

The vertical resolution and refresh rate depend on what the monitor itself supports. That ATARI GAMES VIDEO STANDARDS is the specs for different monitors (notice they all have different scan rates). The first one is the same as an NTSC TV, the last one is the same as standard VGA. On a given monitor you can use a different pixel clock and get a different horizontal resolution though. For example, Atari uses 7.16MHz for a 336-pixel-wide display on a 15KHz monitor but the NES uses 5.37MHz (256 pixels), the Genesis uses 6.7MHz (320 pixels), CPS1 is probably around 8MHz (384 pixels), etc.
