Got a vp30 today in the mail and have played around with it a bit.
The picture looks great for up scaling PS3 720p, but I have had no luck at all getting any sound.
Have tried HDMI and component video, and both have no audio (Factory reset the vp30, set audio to 2CH stereo only).
The model I have has firmware 1.07 installed, and I think it has the ABT card installed (The ABT logo comes up during the boot and is labeled on the front.
Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Re: Iscan vp30 - No audio at all through HDMI.
I had a similar issue with the VP30, until the day I bought a new decent HDMI cable (I was using a very old one before).
Still didn't solve everything though.
DVDO machines are easy to use but from what I've seen with the VP30 & EDGE, those don't output completely 'standard' or maybe not the most 'common' video signal timings.
Or it's the TVs that don't fit, because I've experienced (and still do) really difficult 'start-up' sessions, where my TVs were painfully trying to sync with the DVDO's signal, which can take about 10 minutes or more.
PS: to be sure you have the ABT102 card just check if you have the 'Deinterlacing' menu. where you will find the Game modes etc. If it's not there then you either don't have the card, or it is not connected properly.

I know due to a bug the VP50 can't inject analogue audio into the HDMI, maybe it's a similar bug. Never had issues with audio on the Edge bar the need to sometimes power cycle it to get the audio signal going to my receiver again.

Try updating the FW and see if that fixes it?
