Will reorder as soon as I get home. hope the gscart will still be available 8)
Thanks!

I have plenty of units, it's just easier for me this way than to send you a message and try to resolve this manually.

Hoo baby. Got my GCompSW and all I can think is to channel Indiana Jones: "It's beautiful!"

I currently have three consoles going in and two cables out, one to my CRT and one to a USB capture card. On the CRT, I notice (regardless of console) a very faint horizontal band that travels slowly up the screen. It's easy to miss, it becomes more evident when the screen is dark. Was not the case before.

I'm going to play around with some theories. My component cable that feeds the CRT is an old one from RadioShack - who knows, maybe that's the problem (a shielding thing?). Is there anything with the power I should be looking or tweaking? I'm using the power plug that it shipped with, and plugging into a bulky 8-outlet power strip.

Super nice product.

For sure it's your component cable. Get the one from hdretrovision.

Yeah, further testing bore this out 100%. I was too quick to malign my trusty ol' RadioShack cable because it's the only one that works worth a hoot. I'd just ordered a new one from Monoprice, which I was using for GCompSW -> USB capture, and that seems to be the point of failure. (Ironically, it's the green cable in particular.)

Thanks for the tip about HDRetrovision having a male-to-male component cable, their SNES one is a gosh darn masterpiece... time to order.

Just spent a couple of days setting up all of my consoles with my gscartsw, OSSC & RGC CSYNC scarts.

Turned out pretty sweet & work great!

Nice! Where did you get that cabinet?

Also, uh, is that a TV or a picture frame? :P

Looks super cool and tidy but I'd also remove the doors to always have it like this :)

Had to consider the wife acceptance factor, hence the doors.

77" Sony LED above cabinet (IKEA BTW). 8)

Just got my gscartsw the other day, love it except for some reason, with the combination of my SNES, my SNES Scart Cable, and the gscartsw I am losing sync.

If I swap anything out in that equation, things work. If I use my N64 cable on my SNES and vice a versa, both consoles work. If I don't use my gscartsw, everything works with the specific cables I bought for them.

I am trying to work out if there would be a problem with just swapping the cables for the N64 and SNES, but also trying to find some explanation as to what the cause might be. It seems weird that things would only have issues in one 3 way pairing and nothing else

My setup:

Which SNES doesn't work, SNES or SNES jr? Are you sure that your SCART cable matches your SNES version / mod?
Here I have big SNES which I test using retrogamingcables NTSC CSYNC cable and it's all good.
I also own SNES Jr with restored CSYNC and S-RGB mod done by me and that also works fine using the same RGC NTSC CSYNC cable.

Did you try sync regeneration toggle?

I think my gcompsw is stuffed, it's one of the original 4 port ones.

I'm getting lots of flickering lines on the picture, also the green power light is sometimes flickering.

I tried a couple of different power supplies and even bought a brand new component cable to use for the output and it didn't help.

If I connect my PS2 and Xbox directly to my display they are fine.

Is there anything I can do, other than buying a new one. I don't really want an 8 port, even 4 was too much for me :)

LED flickering means that it's having a trouble to detect the signal, it's unlikely a power issue. Anything new connected lately, any changes?
To troubleshoot try to use yellow RCA instead of Green (connect to green cable to yellow on input and on output) and tell me what you see.
Other than that I'm not going to be able to repair it as the most important parts are end of life now :(.

Nothing new connected, I tried with just one device connected, either the PS2 or original Xbox, both display the same behaviour. Both work fine when I bypass the gcompsw.

The flickering green light happens even with nothing connected.

Do you not have plans to sell the 4 port version anymore? 8 is really overkill, I only use 2 component devices, everything else goes through my gscartsw :)

No plans for that. The older 4 input version was designed around obsolete integrated IC which is not manufactured anymore. I'd say 95% of the owners want more inputs.

Which version of the gscartsw do you have? Its just a thought, but if you have the gscartsw v5.2 you could use it as both a SCART and Component switcher using passive Component>SCART adapters, which might help simplify your setup?

It's a gscartsw_lite. I'm already using all 8 ports anyway. Maybe I should get another and a couple of component to SCART adapters

Ah well, it was just an idea.

I'm sure you already know this, but just to be clear AFAIK the latest gscartsw v5.2 can switch between both Component and RGB SCART with passive adapters, but it doesn't convert/transcode between the two signal types - so either the destination device needs to be able to switch between YPbPr and RGB on the same input (Like the OSSC can through AV1 with a menu toggle option) Or you could use both gscartsw outputs with one being RGB SCART (If required) and the other being Component out using a passive adapter (If for example your using an XRGB-Mini which has separate RGB and YPbPr inputs)

...At least thats my understanding.

<EDIT> Unless i'm mistaken I think the latest gscartsw v5.2 can also accept RGsB (Sync-on-Green) from a PS2, and even strip the sync signal and output it separately as RGBS, so you could potentially just use RGB SCART from your PS2 if you have the correct cable (And possibly even the Xbox as well with a BIOS mod?)

I'm using an OSSC and a PVM 2950. The PVM supports RGB and Component on the same input, just need to set it in the menu, so I guess what you say is doable. For now I just have my Xbox connected directly to the OSSC so I can make use of 480p, 720p and 1080i. The PS2 is connected to the gscartsw_lite via a GARO to convert YPbPr to RGBs.

This is correct.

I just got my gscart switch and have to say it looks pretty awesome.
Unfortunately I cannot check if it works at the moment as I'm still about to order right cables.
(have tried to connect PS2 by a cable I previously bought at Amazon for testing Framemesiter but no luck with that one - got 'no signal' at Framemeister; might be a faulty SCART<->SCART cable)

I'm thinking of getting these from retrogamingcables. At first I want to connect my PS1, PS2, Saturn and SupeFamikom (all NTSC/J).
I know it's much to ask for but could you tell me am I picking the right ones?
