How would PAL Power Strike run on a US Master System??...

Post by dave4shmups »

I know that the Master System is region-free between the US and Europe, but when I tried out SMS New Zealand Story on an emualtor, it ran faster then normal.

Someone told me that this is because the emualtor isn't PAL optimized.

So, if I purchase the PAL Power Strike, would I experience the same problem , running it on a US Master System?

In some cases, PAL games run like shit on NTSC systems, or they run too fast, or the image gets distorted, and or the screen wouldn't display correctly because of Hz difference between 50 Hz television and 60 Hz television.

Someone may have a better answer than I do, but those are just my speculation and from my experience.

Yeah it should run faster on a US SMS than on a PAL SMS, but as most of the games were designed to run on NTSC machines, it should be the speed it was originally meant to run at.

So, in the end it will run the same as a US SMS Power Strike would? :?

Power Strike 2 wasn't PAL optimized. It should run the exact same way as it does on an emulator set to NTSC.

PAL Power Strike runs fine on a US SMS.

So does Power Strike II, FYI.

I highly doubt if there are any PAL optimised (screen height & resolution) games on less than 16-bit game systems.
