Do genesis carts go bad?

If 2 of my carts carts are displaying video like NES games (lots of clipping) does that mean ym system is in need of a burial or that the games (cleaned) are just defective?

I'd try cleaning your carts first, then maybe your system. I normally take my carts apart to clean them, but for a quick clean you can use Q-Tips / rubbing alcohol. Good luck. :)

Carts are already cleaned after taking them apart and cleaning with alcohol.
