PS2 to Saturn converters-Anyone have one?

Post by Geezer »

I'm interested in picking one of these up to use with my PS2 Virtua Stick but would like read some impressions first. Are all 8 buttons mapped and is there any lag?

I recently bought one of these.
Works fine with a Hori Real Arcade Pro, no Lag.
Downside is, it has one of the most retarded button layouts ever thought of.
[] = A
X = B
O = C
/\ = X
R1 = Y
L1 = Z
L2 = R
R2 = L
Start is start (Only sensible layout choice there)
Select can be used to turn on various Turbo fire options.
So if you don't mind spending a litlle time remapping the button layouts in
all your games first, then yeah, it's worth it.

Thanks for the reply man, I've ordered one now :)

I can live with the mapping as I can reconfigure setups in game :)

I agree with Marler. The button mapping can be a major shortcoming. Although you can overcome this problem with some games, it won't work for others. For example, I can't use my Namco arcade stick properly with some of Capcom's 2D fighters as one or two of the buttons can't be configured.

Another complain I have is the random turbo activation of the buttons. But given there is no other similar adapter out on the market, I'm glad someone if bothered to make one.
