Any foreseeable problems?
You see I can buy a Raiden II cab for 200 EURO.
But, I'm tall.
So I'm thinking tear the cab down, built a supergun.
sell Raiden 2, buy Raiden Fighters.
Does this make any sense?
Superguns are expensive as hell. Why then?
I figure I can built my own from a cab!
Making a supergun from a cab
Extra stuff in the end would be--- nice monitor and wooden cabinet.
Stuff aquired would be---- Raiden PCB, speakers, power supply, JAMMA harness and controls.
Stuff needed would be-----just a way to get the video signal to a TV.
Perhaps consolise the arcade monitor? Use SCART or whatever (I'm from the US so I never paid attention to the details on SCART- I think it's the same as arcade, right? R,G,B, Sync, and ground?

They're just expensive becauseD wrote:

!
1. someone's got to make them from scratch
2. all the parts cost more money non-salvaged.... Controls, power supply, and usually 30 to 200 dollar part that converts RGB to a TV signal.
Re: Making a supergun from a cab
As D lives in Europe, he won't need that RGB converter or a special monitor (although one is nice to have). Buying and gutting a cab would seem like a bit of an expensive and horrible job to be honest. A cheap plastic electronics box, a power supply, some controls and a Jamma loom is going to cost a whole lot less than 200 euros - in fact you can buy ready made superguns for less.dpful wrote:They're just expensive becauseD wrote:

If you do go down that road though D, I'd buy the Raiden 2 board if it was fairly priced.
