HOLY SHET ENGLISH DODONPACHI 3 UPDATED
I had a Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou that displayed the ending in English a year ago. Is there a option to change the language on the Dip Settings?
I do not have one anymore but the last one I had was in Japanese. Both Said Master Version when they booted.
Anyone have a Idea?
"UPDATE"
DDP3 english is on his way home to master!!!

ive never even heard of an english version of doj.
youre either a retard or you arent remembering things right. i dont really know. last i had the board in, i dont remember seeing a language option in the service menu. assuming the board is like ketsui, theres a row of dipswitches on the board, but i have no clue if theres a way to set it to english with those (if it exists). interesting if thats the case, maybe ketsui and galuda might have english too for all we know then.

That is exactly what it was like. It said Dodonpachi 3 on the start screen and had a english ending.zlk wrote:I have seen a screenshot of an english version of DOJ. The intro screen has the characters for DDP then a III arranged from top to bottom vertically.
I sold it to a collector In germany a few months ago. I am sure if there is one out there there is probally another. Makes me wonder about Ketsui and Espgaluda if English versions exist for them as well.
I Emailed him offering to buy it back for a enormous ammount of money.

I'm assuming he meant Cave's official English translation as compared to the original Japanese version, if I'm not confused.GaijinPunch wrote:Translations? It's English, right? Translated into what?
PS- Have a fun trip in Japan. You should really go to a little town in Yokohama named Ishikawacho. You can get there from the Blue JR line (Keiegn Tohoku - questionable spelling). It's the Blue line anyway (towards Ofuna from Tokyo/Akihabara). I worked at a little bar in Motomachi by the cemetary (Ishikawacho turns into either Motomachi or chinatown depending on which side of the station you get off at. The bar is named "Laser Rush". It's the BEST bar in Japan, hands down. My boss Ryo and my good buddy Kazz will probably be working. They're awesome guys, they'll show you a good enough time to garuntee a nice hangover. Good luck if you make the venture.

Well, I'm big into the Arcade scene and this definitely ISN'T an American release. I assume it was for the rest of Asia/Europe.John_Smith wrote:I wonder whether it could be a Korean release?? Well at least the binary on the EPROM anyway. Like Batrider for example, apart from the 'everything unlocked' factor, it's the only version to have English translated endings.
Maybe it's something like that...though I could be talkin' out ma ass!!

Well, as for Europe the arcade market is dead compared to the US... so that would have been a huge mistake from Cave to do a Europe-only english release.
An english Asian release on the other hand makes sense.

I don't know what part of the USA you've seen, but here in Los Angeles there is no more Arcade market. Arcades are DEAD. Asia is the only market now.parodius wrote:Well, as for Europe the arcade market is dead compared to the US... so that would have been a huge mistake from Cave to do a Europe-only english release.

Yeah... arcades suck across the board in the states, AFAIK. Hawaii is a joke (unless there's some magically place I've overlooked). There were some arcades in Austin when I was in college (10 years ago) but I hear they're gone now.
Thanks for the tip, Res, but I'm a Tokyo-whore. In 7 years, I went to Yokohama twice. O_o

Just depends on where you go. I don't know of any stand-alone arcades that are successful, but there are plenty sizable ones around the Phoenix area, that are part of other establishments. Metro Mall has had a Cyberzone for ever. Castles'n'Coasters has a great arcade (possibly the best in the phoenix area, IMO). Arizona Mills Mall has a Gameworks, which is pretty stinking big with lots of life still, and a great "classics" section, upstairs. There's also a Jillian's, which is like Dave and Busters, if you are familiar with those; mostly high dollar games, but still a thriving arcade, nonetheless. Maybe Phoenix is an exception, but I'd say the 'cades are still kickin', here. Not like the good old days, by any means, but still kickin', nonetheless.GaijinPunch wrote:Yeah... arcades suck across the board in the states, AFAIK.
