Using an OLD TV for Tate?

Post by rcgrant »

I have an at least 15-year-old 27" RCA TV that I've been thinking about rotating. I suspect it would work just fine, considering the build quality (complete with wooden cabinet) and the simple fact that it's still going strong after upwards of 15 years, but on the other hand I'm reluctant because of its sheer age. Does anyone have any experience rotating a TV similar to this?

so a tv from 1990...i think my sony 27" trinitron is from around that time too, maybe a bit older. it tated fine, but i only did it once i got a new tv (27" wega a few years back). ive left it rotated ever since i did it, minimize any possible wear and tear on it, and had no reason to rotate it back. if you have another tv and have no use for it, go for it. otherwise its a hard call. if youre careful id guess itll be alright, but thats a complete guess.
