29" candy cab - size/dismantling?

Post by system11 »

Hi - apparently a 29" Candy cab is 74cm wide. Do any parts come off these? I have a 27" doorway and it won't go through the way it is (unless someone can correct that width measurement).

Which pieces can be removed given time?

There are dimention sizes for some candy cabs here-

I've got a couple of Candy cabs now and they can be disassembled pretty easily. Taking out the control panal is actually pretty easy and solves the problem in most cases.

Which types do you have? I need to get one through a 27.5" doorway, so I need to find something dismantleable to that width or depth. The one I'd seen is a "Big Century" - clone I think, doesn't matter as it's actually a mamecab that I was going to run some doujin shmups on.

The Century ones are a Naomi clone, and is just under 30" wide. Astro and Windy are 29.5" wide. You would have to completely take apart an Astro or Windy (and I mean COMPLETELY seperate the two plastic frame halves) if you wanted to get it through 27.5" door-frame.

Here is a pic of the Century cab. Can't tell if the panel can be removed without complete disassembly of the plastic frame.

I have an LS sound 29" which is a clone of the Super Neo 25-29" Candy cab. A very nice cab which i love, and i just got a Sega Aero City. I haven't actually mesured these cabs as i've had no problems getting them through the doors. I have quite large doors as i stay in an old Victorian flat.
