PSTwo - diagonal interference in 60hz?

Post by system11 »

Hi - I've recently bought a PSTwo (standard European one), but when it displays games in PAL 60hz (such as Contra SS), faint diagonal scrolling lines appear across the picture - like interference. In 50hz these don't appear. I've already tried moving the machine, unplugging the network port, switching the cables and ports on the TV, nothing seems to make a difference - the other consoles are not suffering the problem.

Has anyone else noticed this? If not, I'll return it for an exchange.

I think I recall owning a DVD player that had a defect quite similar to that, (except it was the reverse - the lines appeared in 50hz PAL discs only and 60hz NTSC was fine)

None of the other DVD players I owned had the problem. Sounds like a defect... you should try to return it

Update - returned it, new one has a similar issue, but its very very VERY hard to see, even on a 36" TV, staring from 1 foot away. Problem solved.
