C'mon, it isn't that hard... :? :)

XRGB-3 = Made to custom specifcations
Mini = Made with the best off the shelf solutions

So is anyone getting the capture card or the Xsync unit?

I don't think Micomsoft is selling the XSYNC-1 and/or Capture card outside of Japan, or else I'd order one! ;)

The XSYNC-1 looks to be a device for connecting RGBS or RGBCv via JP21 and outputting a processed RGBHV signal on the DVI-I connector (DVI-A wiring?), and audio output on 2 RCA connectors. The XSYNC-1 would connect to the capture card via a DVI-I cable (DVI-A) to the DVI-I input on the capture card.

What I'd like to try is using a DVI-A to VGA cable to connect the XSYNC-1 to the D2 (VGA) input on my XRGB-3. The XSYNC-1 might help improve B1 compatiblity, or increase console compatiblity (without having to build circuits for cables).

Still curious to know when the Frame Meister will be available. I'm hoping it does a nice job of cleanly scaling 480p sources like the Wii. I'd rather get a FM than hunt down a HD3000.

My thoughts on the XSYNC-1 exactly, I'd love to have a play with it.

Maybe Solaris Japan can be convinced to carry these two new toys?

They should just put the XSelect back into production already... :?

Where would someone in the US purchase this once its released? Are there any online stores that are taking preorders?

Solaris Japan will of course stock it and I'm pretty sure that NCS will offer it as well - at least some units from the initial batch.

Once they go back on sale or rather go on sale "properly" I will make sure to add them to our webshop. :)

Btw. you can always send me a PM/email in case you are looking for something that is not listed.

Last we got from Micomsoft was Autumn. So let's hope September rather than end of October.

Hardware is completed.
Software is debugged.
Manufacturing preparation in progress.

Prototype

A SCART RGB adapter will be include (D-Terminal input). > error, it will be that unamed input near STANDBY :)

There is a SD microcard input, usage will be :・Firmware update, Save and read of data(future), Save of capture image(future), more :)

The language is currently only Japanese. However, 70% is in English.
It could be possible to read a language file from the SD card.

Unconfirmed price & release date : ~30000 yens / october

About HDMI and HDCP :
HDMI input(with HDCP)->XRGB-mini-> HDMI output(with HDCP)
HDMI input(without HDCP)->XRGB-mini-> HDMI output(without HDCP)

Scanline feature is NOT available. Probably later.

Uhh, yeah, ouch, 30000 yen is far, far beyond what I'd be willing to pay.

when XRGB-3 was released, price was ~39000 yens (current price brand new is ~35000 yens ...)

those 30000 yens are not confirmed ! It could be more or less

Very cool! Thanks for posting akumajo. :)

So, 15kHz RGB will connect via the D-terminal input with a SCART adapter? Care to share how all of this will work? Will composite sync/video be connected on one of the three "reserved" pins on the 14 pin connector? What about that front input jack, will that have similar use? Looks like a mini din connector of sorts? I'd like to make a JP RGB adapter ahead of time if Micomsoft will only provide SCART adapters.

SCART RGB > ADAPTER > RGB IN (FRONT)
this input is unamed (mini-din like) on prototype case

Micomsoft will include a Japan 21-pin RGB adapter and not a Euro Scart one - for sure.

Does it support PAL signal?

That would be a lucky guess right now. The Marvell processor used by Micomsoft does support PAL and using HDMI output instead of VGA allows for easy 1080p50 support. We'll have to see, if Micomsoft implemted PAL support in the firmware as well.

Using the adapter makes perfect sense to have as many variations of adapter as possible when RGB is concerned. They only have to offer it as an accessory. Why are some companies so stubborn to support what people want?
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

So does it accept 31kHz VGA on the front input too?

Looks like a 8 pin mini din connection to the XRGBm. I hope the 8 pin input on the mini's case is large enough to accept a non-molded mini din plug!

Next bit of info is the pinout! :)

It's nothing a dremel can't fix :P

A 8pin should support VGA + sound as well. I'm really hoping the Frame Meister and XRGB-3 in B1 mode will be the perfect combo :)

Since they are using a Marvell ASIC and not their own FPGA code, akumajo could you confirm with them that 240p will be handled properly??

Like doubling the line like in xrgb3 B0 mode and that the Marvell ASIC won't try to deinterlaced like if it was a 480i signal like most TV do.

From what I've picked up between FPGA and ASIC, it may unfortunately do just that. I.e not hard linedouble.

Fudoh has commented on the methods before, but I could be taking that out of context.

The Marvell processor might be very well able to handle true 240p and it might be question of programming it right. As this point I don't know of any outboard processor to feature this processor, just a few integrated ones.

Ha! Makes me think there'll be a setup where B1 is fed to the mini! I seem to recall something in Japanese about the mini not working with the Neo Geo....?

I'm already unimpressed by the lack of scanlines. Incompatibility with the Neo Geo closes the door completely. Looks like I'll be sticking with this Lenkeng jobbie for the foreseeable future.
