Any Genesis-to-Dreamcast controller converters around??...

Post by dave4shmups »

Does anyone make these?? Because I have two new 6-button Genesis controllers, and I DON'T want to use the DC's D-Pad for shmups.

What about converters to use XBOX controllers?

And, are Lik-Sang the only one's who sell the Saturn-to-DC controllers?

For some reason, the only converters I can find on Ebay are PS2 one's. :?

It's actually better if you use a Saturn pad. And a Sat to DC converter will run you 10-15 bucks at max.

I have this one, and recommend it. It helped me improve my chain count in Ikaruga, actually.

Thanks Specineff! :D I guess I should've read the item description-the auction title, which only mentioned using PS2 controllers, threw me off.

It doesn't surprise me that you'd do better with a Saturn pad-or that ANYONE would! The DC controller isn't crap, but it just isn't made for 2D games.

I recommend "Total Control 5"

To use for your Dreamcast with PS + Sat controller incl memory card inputs.

I have two of em. Work great.

DC controller?
Worst 2D controller
Best 3D RACER joypad

So right now input: "Total Control 5" in Google including the "'s and get these they are fabulous. rated ***** (5/5)

I have a Total Control 5 as well, the Saturn pad works like magic on it.

One problem I have is that the VMU slot for it is unreliable though, it corrupted my Ikaruga save (not that big a deal since I usually play without a VMU now)

Are we using third party memory cards are we?

I occasionally have problems too with my third party memory card.
But I think that it's just the memory card.
