Need help with sticking "A" button on my Genny con

Post by dave4shmups »

I have a Genesis 3-button controller, but the A button sticks sometimes. I've been told to fix it by opening up the controller; is there any other way to fix this problem-ie, wipe around the edges with a Windex, or Rubbing-Alcohol-soaked cloth?

What's wrong with just taking it apart?

Once the rubber wears they're pretty fucked. As fpbrush says they aren't very durable.

Yeah, I just ordered two new 6-button Genesis controllers-hopefully those will last a while.

The problem with taking it apart was the fact that we don't have any mini-phillips head srewdrivers in my house.

ive needed those mini-phillips so many times.. im lucky that my family has a set. controllers, cell-phones, you name it! may want to just invest in a set, you dont always need them, but they are sure nice to have when you do!

Yeah, the rubber touch contact point seems to become less rigid and dosen't bounch back into the button for the nice clicky feel.

I just take em apart and put a replacement in from a crappy controller.

Megadrive 6 button is a dam nice pad, great size.
