Do USA plugs work with japanese appliances?

Post by Diabollokus »

In a bit of a rush

Right you need a stepdown adaptor to convert 240~110v but what is the wattage/ amps?

is 39 or 45 or 50?

Need to know about to nab one.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If any uk owners are reading please look at yours and post the details if you can.

regards

the Saturn consumes like 20W so a cheap as chips one should suffice :-)
...and suddenly, a very freaky wormhole opened, and 4 3-foot tall market analysts fell out...

Yeah just realised wattage dosen't actually matter but one more question.

I'm going to buy an american adaptor which is 2 flat pins for the equipment and the wall plug end is 3 flat for UK as you'd expect.

BUT

Are japanese and american power points both 2 flat pins?

Thanks guys.

Yeah Just noticed on ebay the pins on the adaptors, well fingers crossed my white saturn should be in UK soon!

paid $70 for ems insured postage! Dam more expensive than the console. still worked out cheaper than a UK seller.

Apologies for stupid questions, just desperate to play silvergun again.

Although I'm living in Australia, I'm using this one for my Japanese saturn.

Works fine and is cheap.

Japanese use 2 flat rectangular pins, American has one fatter than the other.

Stepdowns cater for both. But usually they do not ground.

Best just to get a big one from maplins because the newer consoles require up to 100 watts and if you import those you will require a bigger one anyway. Might as well be future proof.

Maplins sell them as does www.keene.co.uk
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Well I've bought the console.

heres the adaptor I bought

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 54586&rd=1

its a USA~UK 45 watt 2 pin one, Please tell me it will fit the japanese plug or else I've just wasted money.

I'm worried now the japan plug won't fit properly if one of the american pins is fatter.

Pretty sure thats the same adaptor people are selling bundled with their japan saturns in UK though.
