Is it possible to run vert games in TATE mode using MAME?

Open Mame.ini (it should be in the same folder as Mame.exe).
Search the document for "norotate" (this should be under the heading "Mame CORE video options"). Make sure it is set to 1 (default is 0).
If you are using Mame32 or a Mame32-based build, choose Options from the menu, then "Default Game Options". Click the Display tab if it is not selected. Under "Rotation", choose "None" from the dropbox. Apply these settings.
For an individual game in Mame32, right-click on the game, choose Properties and use the process outlined above.
This setting will have MAME display Tate games correctly on your screen. Yoko games will be unaffected.
