Neo Geo controller port question...

Post by iatneH »

Super quickie..

I'm modding a Genesis 3-button controller to use in my future supergun, and I want to follow the Neo Geo pinout.

I'll be sticking a DB-15 on the end, but I need to know whether the controller side (as opposed to console side) is a male or female.

Thanks in advance!

console has pins, leads have holes.

This is supergun sold in Germany using DB15's.

Its the same design as the Genesis controller, only the ports are bigger.

Put Males in your supergun.. Basically.

Thanks so much for the info. Hopefully I'll have this controller done in a few minutes...

That supergun is wicked! Damn those Europeans and their SCART televisions!
Alas, I must leave room for the video convertor...

I use a Cyruss RGB>Component video transcoder on my supergun and the results are great. (Dependant on TV of course).

I bought this because its external and you can use it with other consoles that maybe didnt have SVideo on it, like the Genesis or master system.

You will require a neo geo scart lead though. The price of the Transcoder (only available from Australia) is $103 + shipping.

If you buy an internal decoder you need a) room for it and b) you cannot use it for anything else.

So if you need a Svideo mod for your genesis, you could just buy one of the cyress's + genesis scart lead of course.
