It just blocked my credit card. Funny, because it's ATTACHED to the account, and I bought Gold with it. So.. I'm going to have to start getting them elsewhere instead of automatically adding them. God damn.
I haven't actively browsed/used this forum in many years and it's no longer an accurate representation of me.

I tried entering my credit card info on XBLA, but it won't accept USA credit cards.
Do I have to purchase JPN point cards from import sites like Amazon.co.jp/Play-asia/etc? (I don't want to pay for shipping/wait)
Japan Video Games have them. And they'll just e-mail you the code after you buy, to save time and shipping.

yes i believe you can use any dlc with any account on the machine it was downloaded to, but it's locked to that machine (unless you use the DRM tool thing, which can only be done once a year), so if you transfer it to another xbox, to use it you have to be on the account you used to downloaded it and be connected to xbox live.
Thanks msm. I'd missed your reply somehow. I appreciate the help, and now can buy my extra ships!

This isn't a hardware question, particularly, but it doesn't seem worth starting a thread on.

Anybody here own Tetris: TGMA on the 360? Anybody own it and fancy whacking up a quick and easy translation for the menus? Most of the modes are only playablee when online, and even the unlockable offline modes have to be unlocked online, but I've no idea at all how to navigate through the online menus.

That's fantastic, thanks.

I actually found that site myself today, when searching, but obviously didn't look hard enough within it.

I didn't see this in the OP:
I just got my jp360 all set up and I'm using my American account, but I'm finding that SFIV is trying to pair me with Japanese players. Is this a simple setting in the 360 options that I need to change?

SFIV has an option to search for Japanese or "english" players in the matchmaking.

Just search for custom instead of quick games.

That's a search priority, but it's not helping me much. I need to change whatever setting is telling SFIV that I live in Japan (I checked my locale and clock settings in XBL and they are all as they should be).

If none of that has worked, then it may be searching based on the fact that your console has a Japanese serial.

If that's the case, I don't know what you could do.

I just tried to create a Japanese g-mail account, but I didn't realize that you'd need a Japanese cellphone account to do this. Apparently, another way of registering is by invitation from your previous g-mail account. Perhaps the first post should have this information.

Edit: Not even when I used the invitation I got past the f***ing cellphone number part. Damn you g-mail.

I almost never use my old account, would it work if I changed the region to Japan for that, or does anyone have an alternative service that works with Live I could use?

I didn't need any sort of real cell phone # to create a japanese gmail account.

I just put all 1s in there.

Well, now you have to input one that's real to "recieve the confirmation code".

Edit: I changed the settings for my normal account to Japan without any issues that I've seen so far. When my XBox arrives from Japan, hopefully it'll work.

This is sad, my PS2->360 adapter that I've been using has been working really well until last night it just started hanging on inputs for about a full second every once in a while. I wasn't having any issues and suddenly it just started in with this. :(

The magic of eBay. Sometimes you get hosed, but sometimes you make out good :D There was a thread in the main forum about some dude selling brand new 1st gen. JP 360 Premiums for $120 (+$15 shipping). I snagged one and recently snagged a used Deathsmiles for $50 shipped. Did an anti-RROD mod and I'm on my way :D

haha, I'm right there with you man (well, about $20 more since I didn't get a used copy). My buddy was so upset he missed out on that auction because I didn't think to tell him about it immediately and they were sold out by the next hour.

This guide is really great! Hat's of to you kind sir. Something I noticed while trying to redeem my Japanese Live points a couple of minutes ago (I just got my NTSC-J 360) was that to redeem points you'll need a Japanese adress handy.

You'll be asked to enter the following:

"Postal code"
"Prefecture"
"City"
"Adress 1"

I used the one found here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 309AAooVeP where the Postal code is : "100-8439", the Prefecture was "東京都" (the XBox will simply show you a list of Kanji, is it?) and as for City, I just switched from Japanese characters to western and put in "Tokyo" and for Adress 1, "Chiyoda-ku" did the trick. Feel free to use this information as you see fit.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to, since exactly what I wrote is exactly how I registered another account this year.

Well, how recent was that then? Was this before they disallowed you to use your non-japanese credit card?

"Updated 31/03/2009", as it were. So no, but I don't want to go through the process again, as I have like 12 accounts now.

I had to enter the address and such when I redeemed some points for DS MBL as well. I just entered the proper area code and then it filled out the rest of the information on its own. I had no idea what to enter as the area code though, so for future users of the guide it might be nice if something about this was mentioned.

I totally understand that you don't want to sit all day and test stuff like this, but for the sake of this thread and the good of this community, it would be nice to new NTSC-J 360 owners if you could please include info on how to solve the "enter japanese adress" based on what I and now Naiera has written here. Something like:

Should you need to input a Japanese adress for some reason (redeeming Live points for example), enter the area code like this "100-8439" and the rest of the required fields should be filled out by themselves.

Has anyone played Halo 1 or 2 on a J360? I guess you need the Japanese versions as they are region locked (according to PA)

Just want to know how they perform, I want to ditch my US Xbox but plan on buying Halo 1 and 2 as I played them alot in the past.

Yeah, picked up Halo as it's a great local multiplayer party game. It's under 500yen in a used game shop, or you can download it for 1200MSP from the Japanese XBL marketplace. It loads quickly and runs reasonably well. A few areas are overdark through the VGA cable, there are some sound loudness/positioning issues, and framerate in multiplayer is even less consistent than on an original XBox (but tolerable). Not sure about Halo 2 as, quite honestly, I'm not a fan of the game.

Just checked my latest JP account and there's no prefecture/location/etc in there, so I don't know what you guys are talking about. Given the fact that I have managed to make an account without any details, and that I have proof of this, I'm not going to update the tutorial for now.
