What do you think is the best shooterjoystick (model)? What is used in the arcades the most?
If seimitsu, what model is it?

i use Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y stick with standard square gate and OBSF-30 Sanwa buttons in a DC stick base, and i LOVE it.

I had seimitsu sticks in my astro city cab when i first bought it but i could'nt stand them tbh, i found them way too short and replaced them with sanwa JLF instead.

(BTW, did you make this stick for a guy called Richard from Sweden, with a pic of his cousin on it? :) http://www.arkadesticks.com/bild7rickard.jpg

That is odd. I thought every shooter-fan loved the Seimitsu?
I myself prefer Sanwa Flash1, it is such a nice feel to it.
Anybody else wanna contribute?

And yes, that is for Rickard in Sweden:

Im not too fussed on Seimitsu parts, i find the stick too stuby and uncomfortable. I prefer the sanwa JLF for shooters/fighters/2D stuff. I like to cup the ball with my little finger in front of the stick ( http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark9/Grip.jpg ) on a Seimitsu i cant do this

Hah, I've known Richard/Louie for a few years now, we play ST online on Kawaks and now Xbox live often, very nice guy. Oh yeah he loves the stick:)

He's nailing T.Hawks 360's 99% of the time now :x

I'm on the fence. I used to prefer Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y, but ever since I got a used cab with older Sanwa's, I realized that they loosen up quite a bit over time (which may NOT be appealing to shooter fans). The used sticks have to travel further to activate the microswitch. This is probably from to much play with fighter games where where you constantly doing rolls, and hitting corneres and stuff.

I also have a used set of seimitsu, and even though they are old/used, the travel is much shorter to activate the microswitch. This is much more appealing to shooters where you want to make quick short movements. The seimistu uses blades on the microswitch, and can be bent/adjusted to your preference. The Sanwa does not use blades, so the stick just hits the small red button on each microswitch.

I guess you could tighten up a sanwa by wrapping tape around the end where they contact the switches, but it seems easier to adjust the seimistu.

The only other advantage sanwa's may have is the flash kit (which I don't even think they make anymore), and the octogon gate replacement (which some people prefer to the square gate).
