White Saturn or A Grey one?

Post by Diabollokus »

After an import saturn but which one should I buy?

A white one with the multi coloured buttons or the grey one with blue buttons?

Is their reliability differences between them and which one is more expensive?

Any advice would be appreciated, I own 2 pal ones but want to play the games in their original jp 60 hz modes instead of pro action replay cart.

I bought my grey Saturn ( w/ 2 controllers & 6 games) off eBay for $49.95 + shipping. That was four years ago and it's still running great. The price may have gone up since then.

Don't know much about the white ones though. I don't think there's any difference between the two, except for their colors.

I say go for the white one. The gray saturn has a dirty look to it. Like concrete that has been puked on over and over.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Goddamn furries.

Grey > White (omg lol)

Before this post gets any more intelligent, supposedly though I could be confused here, Saturn types other than model 1's have a hard time running the Sega Ages games, which include the Outrun port which is a must have.

I concur. White Saturn equals high probability of "No Outrun", although it´s apparently not inherent in all white SS´s....

My choice is this

Buy either

V-saturn
grey saturn
white saturn
(all japan import requiring stepdown) shipment is extortion

Buy
A multi-region switched black one from beeboy.
(Not sure how many years it'll hold out) cheapest option

I'm staying away from hi saturn and skeleton as too expensive.

So is there any advantage of buying a certain one?

Yeah, but on the flip side, if you want to put a mod chip in, the white Saturn is the way to go.

I´ve owned a bunch of Saturns, and have never once had problems with the grey versions (HST001 or HST3200).
The White is a great looker, but also the "weirdest" of the lot. Has a mind of its own sometimes.
Black is a good choice also.
Not sure about the V-saturn. Always wanted one myself, but never got around to it.
