Basically I'm wondering if there are particular dates of manufacture that I should be looking for, should I try for one with a particular dvd-drive (Samsung/Thompson/etc), etc...
Not really sure if it matters...
Buying a used XBox - What do I need to look for?

aparently the samsung dvd drives are the best and will read just about any disk you put in them. the thompson drives are unable to read most CDRs. the phillips drive (which ive got) is better than the thompson but cant read as much as the samsung
