Cheapest way to play imports on an N64?...

Post by dave4shmups »

I would eventually like to get a few imports for my N64, and I'd like to know what the cheapest way to play imports on this console is. I'm aware that Lik Sang has a "pass-through" cartridge, but would, say, a GameShark cartridge do the trick with this console?

Err, if you have a special screwdriver (which are quite cheap to find at your local hardware store), you can just take the cart cover off the N64 cart slot, sand out the extra plastic preventing imports from being placed in the N64, and then put the cover back on. Or you can leave the cover off but that'll mean no tabs for your cart slot.

That's right, there's no internal modification necessary to play imports, at least not JP ones.

Just break the cartridge tabs inside the N64 off.

Heh. No need to savage your N64. (No, wait guys! I've modded mine too! But...) A GameShark will work just fine, if you have one around. :)
