Replacement MD1 PSU German Connector

Post by MintyTheCat »

Hello all,

I think my girlfriend broke the PSU on one of my MD1 PSUs. I don't have any others here as most of my gear is in-storage.
Can anyone recommend any decent and stable suitable replacements MD1 PSUs?

From memory, it's a raw 9-12VDC rated at 1A.

there are so many possible replacements. Sega themselves bundles both 9V and 10V ones. For not causing to much heat, better go with 1.2A or higher.

Your problem will be the polarity. Contrary to almost any PSU today (which are 99% center positive), the classics used center negative. So pay attention to that or get your soldering iron to change the polarity. In terms of high quality PSUs I like the "Taifu" ones available through Amazon.de

I have found this to be the case.
