Has anyone saved the videos for Salamander and Life Force 10mil points? They appear to be gone...

Flak Attack from the same account is also gone.

Anyone?

A couple of other replays also went down. Would appreciate a re-up.

-Purikura Daisakusen
-Ikaruga Hard mode
-Esprade JB-5th

Just a reminder that the internet forgets way too quickly. If a replay is important to you, make sure you save it. If this trend continues, the list will soon be just a collection of dead links.

You can also find tons of new replays in the list. In the end it evens out I guess!

I've wanted to start saving replays myself, but I can't find any non-shady tools to download from Youtube. Any suggestions?

JDownloader2 should work as emphatic said. I used to use livestreamer, which I actually installed to stream Twitch through VLC, but I found that it could also download YouTube videos. livestreamer hasn't been updated in a while though, and I haven't checked if it still works. I've also seen some other utilities such as You-Get that purportedly can do the same, but I haven't tried them.

https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/ I really like youtube-dl. It also works with a variety of other video sites.

I'm going to download everything I can from this list now.

I tried this a while back and found that it was pretty slow, and you need to pay them a subscription fee to get unthrottled speeds. Not recommended.

Probably any of the "least-shady-looking" websites would work.
I used to use onlinevideoconverter but it doesnt work with adblock anymore.
Might be able to trick it by disabling-refreshing-then quickly re-enabling.

https://www.flvto.biz/youtube-to-mp4/
IIRC Ive used flvto with success as well.

Not trusted any extensions or apps though.

Great Mahou Daisakusen (Solo Bang) video with slightly higher score and significantly better video quality than the currently listed (also full 108/108 items): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2g-P9DzlaM (player: sddkaede, score: 81,317,660)

Found a better TwinBee Yahho special mode replay, this time of the arcade version rather than a port: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm26492695

Score is 17,587,160 (game-over on stage 5 boss), according to the description the player is Koizumi (same as the practice mode replay and the Detana!! TwinBee replay).

By the way, if you want to download a video from Nicovideo, just right-click on the player, click "Open system message," and copy-paste the URL next to "Video is now loading" into your browser.

Better score for Lost Worlds/Forgotten Worlds:

R=- -Lost Worlds / Forgotten Worlds
R=score & name & link R=7.064.800 & H-AML & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ1dX611dVY

It would seem that garudo balion's Flak Attack replay is no longer available. Did anyone save it before it disappeared? The next best thing I can find is a stream from Mikado (part 1, part 2; part 1 is apparently plagued with technical issues) which ended with a score of 679,800 points. Anyone knows of something better?

It should definitely noted (as Mero did) that the replay for Last Duel shows the much easier US version of the game, might be worthwhile to add that information in the table.

I noticed Akkanvader/Space Invaders '95 has no entry. Not sure if this means the game has been overlooked or if the video falls under the rule of not listing a replay if only bad ones exist. Just in case, I'll drop this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3nfmh70_YY

I don't know a lot about this game yet, so I'm not positive if listing that the run was done on the 2P side is relevant info.

From a recent event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Battle Bakraid:

Battle Bakraid (ship: Blade Owl, haven't checked what subtype but I assume B)
Player: Niboshi (i.e. the current record-holder for this game)
Score: 116,826,140 (ALL)
Video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=r4ylGWlstwE&t=5635

There's also a clear scoring 113,090,390 with the same ship just before, but I'm not sure about the player: https://youtube.com/watch?v=r4ylGWlstwE&t=4083
Despite the similar score, it has a lot of differences from the other run, so I think both are worth watching if you have the time.

And a Flame Viper (B) clear scoring 74,354,490: https://youtube.com/watch?v=r4ylGWlstwE&t=1690

Found a much higher scoring replay for Metal Hawk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-VF2hBiLzk

I'm guessing its new version based on the additional enemy types ( black plane/ twin blade helicopter enemies in the canal zone stage), more aggressive popcorn heli behavior & score ( 13.7k), but it should be helpful for future runs. Or you could denote this as New version, while listing the other replay by Takeshi as Old version.

This isn't a higher scoring replay than the one already posted, so it doesn't belong in the main post, but I thought I would post it here anyway since I think it could be valuable to someone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gahp7db3Bo

That's a Dragon Blaze Quaid replay by WR holder CYS-SAK and the final score would have been significantly higher than the SYO replay if it weren't for the two unfortunate deaths (3,438,100 vs. 3,324,300, after the final boss but before clear bonuses). Definitely worth looking at if you are a Quaid player.

Thanks for sharing. Really clean run, makes me want to play Dragon Blaze again.

In response to DMC, what Soukyugurentai replay are you looking for? The one with the terrible music playing over top?

Limbrooke,
I was thinking of the 40.9 M replay that Plasmo linked in this thread and Enhasa linked in the previous hiscore thread.
viewtopic.php?p=438137

Neither of the video links work for me. I don't recall if it had weird music.

But any ~20M+ replay is of interest.

There are two Soukyugurentai videos floating around.

1) 40,9m w/ Houga
2) 43,4m w/ Toryu

I have updated the opening posts with new links for 2). Unfortunately, 1) is not available because of copyright issues due to the strange music played. I suppose a muted upload is the way to go for this one.
