Yeah, the boss appearance (and consequently the end and start of levels) is determined by your scoring.

ressurrect!

question, maybe someone remembers or can confirm this:
is it correct that the default difficulty for Star Force (at least on MAME) is "easiest"?

Been playing this for a couple weeks now, best tips so far are...
Icarus wrote:The hundreds digit of your score determines the movement direction of the boss. Odds and it moves left, evens and it moves right.
nii-san wrote:I much use diagonals to go faster.
I seem to hit a wall, each credit i play, the length of the first stage are not always the same, sometimes i kill things quick and sometimes i let them go, which makes the later stages either gone forward or delayed

What's this 'game map' members been talking about :?:
I've tried to google it but with no luck... also zakk's link doesn't work anymore

^ Evil unfair frustrating game CHI. KAC and the tall guy got to Infinity Stage back when it was out out the arcades, but I think its a race to get there before it drives you round the bend :? .

^It's frustrating alright but in a good way... I've gone into the Infinity Stages a handful of times, just need to learn and remember the patterns...

Got this advice from nii-san:
Well, the best advice is to memorize the sequence of enemies, while controlling the game map. I much use diagonals to go faster. I have not seen your game, and I don't know if you sacrifice lives on the line bonus of 80,000 points. If so, it is an error. It is better to have many lives for the most difficult places and thus have the opportunity to end the cycle of enemies and to find the 2nd cleopatra.
What bugs me is, how do i control the game map :?:
I pretty much know what to do/how to react to certain enemy patterns before Cleopatra, but once i get the Cleopatra, it's pretty much survival play from there...
One time i no-miss to stage 10 (Cleopatra stage) and lost all my lives before Cleopatra, now that's frustrating

^Not the Infinity Stage :!:
Ok, i might be wrong on this... the furthest i've been is area 20, this could be the Infinity Areas after the 1st Cleopatra

^ST20 is good but yes not Infinity Stage.
It runs through the alphabet. Infinity Stage starts at ST26 and is unending.
