Bump for some Expert clips, with more to come soon-ish or possibly before The Winds of Winter is published. Also:
THE STRAT
You know how holding start for your entire credit in the arcade version magically results in a giant Fighting Spirit bonus? Now MAME players can partake of the mystery.
Prerequisites: Logitech keyboard, U.S. quarter dollar

Re: ST: Raiden DX (Draft)
Great guide, but I think you should also mention the AC infinite lives glitch as a random FYI. It hapoens when you press start on 1p or 2p then select the course by pressing the other player's start button. This works for 2 players as well. Not sure if this is purely just on the US version, but IIRC the Japanese version had it as well. Also I can only confirm this with free play on my PCB, so I'll have to check with using only one credit later on.

Tried this out in MAME - it only works using Free Play and AFAICT works with all versions, Japan included - I tested the Japan and Great Britain ROMs. Inserting a coin takes you straight to the course selection screen.beatsgo wrote:Great guide, but I think you should also mention the AC infinite lives glitch as a random FYI. Thank you for this great guide, saucy! It's been a help in learning to play this game.

One correction:
What then is the condition in US version? I am not sure. I had game over already at 1-5 boss, but with first two missions I get consistenly high number of guts, as I spend lot of time in top of the screen.
Feel free to test this with Mame on US rom set.
^This is not true if you have US version of PCB board. I managed to enter the 9th with my PCB, credit feeding and bombing all my way through. Screenshots prove this:It features eight levels plus a secret ninth if you clear the first eight without dying or bombing

Re: ST: Raiden DX (Draft)
You can credit-feed to get into expert stage 9 on UK set 1 as well; I wouldn't be surprised if most of the romsets outside of JP nix the nomiss/no bomb requirement.MJR wrote:One correction:
