ebay (and other) auctions with insane prices
I think I'm the one who started that rumor about the Tengen Genesis carts being bad. A couple people had dead Grindstormers and I had a dead Dragon's Revenge. I made an observation about how it was weird to see all these dead Tengen carts. Somehow those 3-4 dead carts turned into this 'watch out for Tengen Genesis carts' thing, which I've seen people mention in a few different places now. It may well be that their manufacturing was a little lax or something, but I think the odds of finding a dead cart are still pretty low (and probably not really higher than finding a dead cart of any other type).
We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.

of the last few eBay auctions I've seen this year, the JAMMA version Slap Fight PCB has sold for $100+ on at least two occasions.
I'm actually looking for the blue-colored JAMMA version PCB myself, and now it seems like they're not quite that cheap anymore. :/
on topic: 9,500 JPY for a single Gradius arcade flyer

now, I´ve done quite a bit of soldering in recent years, but I´d never dare to solder on a working PCB. Already managed to destroy an Xbox by overheating with the solder iron.If that is due to the bad contact within the potentiometer, that's easy fix. Just dissolder it and replace it with a new one.
I´ve seen it go cheaper many times, but I´m not looking for it anymore. Only for those Toaplan games that were not ported.of the last few eBay auctions I've seen this year, the JAMMA version Slap Fight PCB has sold for $100+ on at least two occasions.

Just curious, what are you trying to do by soldering on an XBox?raiden wrote:now, I´ve done quite a bit of soldering in recent years, but I´d never dare to solder on a working PCB. Already managed to destroy an Xbox by overheating with the solder iron.

You don't have to answer that
Anything can and will be used against you in a court of law.
You have voided your waranty and possibly attempted to alter hardware.
This is subject to prosecution and you can be held in custody for 3 days with a maximum bail set at 20.000$.
I am a cop, but the FBI took over our case. Damn feds. I find it funny that in alot of movies/tv-series it's always a cop case and then loathed feds come in and ruin the whole thing by going against the cops' advices

WTF, I can get the game really cheap for less than $10 (it's possible).Turrican wrote:This I think is slightly less nuts, but still too high for my blood.
Grind Stormer Genesis
WOW: WTF
Anyway, about Slap Fight. It's a cool game, but I wish it was cheaper. When it's my birthday (first day of October), I'm going to purchase one rare Megadrive game (Slap Fight, V 5, Pulseman, and Alien Soldier). I want all of these games, but since I'm low on the money, I have to buy one of them. If SAM still has his copy of Slap Fight in October (it's a long shot), then I'm going to buy it!
Fighter, if you can obtain Grind Stormer complete for around that amount or less than the one on Bay, drop me one will ya. I'm itching to play it on my Genny.Fighter17 wrote:WTF, I can get the game really cheap for less than $10 (it's possible).Turrican wrote:This I think is slightly less nuts, but still too high for my blood.

EDIT: PM sent about the information.

Nevermind then. My apologies.
RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!!!!
But you still have that PCB eh?SAM wrote:Sorry to disappoint you, the game was sold to a member here early this year.Fighter17 wrote:If SAM still has his copy of Slap Fight in October (it's a long shot), then I'm going to buy it!
Then again, if YOU say it's broken, it most likely is. Not like that "broken" Strikers 1945 I bought that just needed a little bit of flexing...

I haven't throw it away, because I see Toaplan boards as treasure and don't want to reduse their numbers. By keeping it, it might somedays be repaired or use to repair another Toaplan board in the hands of the right person.
When power it on, it only give a rubbish screen w/ no sound. After close examination on the board, I could see some loose wires (I don't know where they should connected to) on it. The problem could be that or some other reasons I don't know.
The Alcon PCB is a two decks board, just like a Capcom 1943 PCB. It weight around 1.7kg within a card board box.
That would cost...
US$33.99 Via Air Post (2 to 3 weeks)
US$12.36 Via Surface Post (3 to 4 months)
...to Europe.
As said before, the PCB is FREE to claim, you only need to send me the postage. PM me if you are interested.

I´m using my Slapfight bootleg as wall decoration for the time being, but when I get to meet someone able to repair it or come across the pinout, I´ll jump for it.
It'll be interesting to see what the final bid on this is:

Check out the pcb itself, now if that isn't a boot and what's with the rust?
