Alien Hominid
Alien Hominid
Since I'm probably not going to be a noble hero and preorder Trizeal, I've been considering buying this. Are the metal slug comparisons at all deserved? It seems like a lot of the praise it got was because it was released for Gamecube.
this game is super fun. i've never really sat down and played it one player, but when i have friends over 2 player it's a non stop fun fest.
the level design is amazing.
the character design is amazing.
boss fights are super fun.
animation is a little choppy, but whatever. it's not that bad.
highly recommended.

It's a good game, just doesn't feel refined like so many other classic run n gunners.
My main beef is that there are only 3 main area, I woulda liked to see a vaeriety in level design. Though some ideas, like riding a giant yeti, is innovative.
One of those games you'll beat and will pick up again only to play minigames (and the PDA ones).

I agree with you on all accounts except for the level design. There are some great segments (level 2, with the freeway comes to mind) but for the most part the level design is subpar and indicative of a first-time developer. Compare the levels of Metal Slug to Alien Hominid. One strikingly apparent difference is that Hominid's levels are very FLAT, direction is primarily limited to the X axis (discounting the space levels). I do think it takes away from it somewhat. But still a GREAT game.beatifik wrote:this game is super fun. i've never really sat down and played it one player, but when i have friends over 2 player it's a non stop fun fest.

The white clouds floating on the great blue sky
And the boiling red blood shed in fierce gaming
Those who give up halfway through
Their battered bodies will never forget!
Segata Sanshiro, Segata Sanshiro! Sega Saturn... shiro!
