Printing arcade art

Post by shmupsrocks »

I'd like to display some art to go along with whatever game I have in the supergun. I'm thinking of finding high res art online and sending it to a printer for a high quality print. Any good source for art files or a good print shop that will do this in the US?

There's a limited selection of shmup themed prints on Red Bubble.

Some cool R-Type and Dodonpachi ones on there.

I'm quite fond of this one, and I've been thinking about getting it for the game room/office:

I don't know a repository with hi res art though.

Great find. My faves on Redbubble:

Do I want Luster or Metallic finish on these?

I know GaijinPunch has uploaded some high-res stuff in the past. You might do a search around here. I think rancor maybe did as well? Been a number of years so not sure if those are still around, but we've definitely had some good uploads here at some point that I'm sure someone still has.

I have some shit. I'm away from my hard drive so you'll have to wait a few weeks but I'm sure I can upload something somewhere.

Can you handle any more bandwidth? I can probably donate a few more.

Just go for quality photo printing websites - TONS of reviews out there on what's the best based on your needs and size (I use DPReview for that sort of thing). Keep in mind that if you're not going for the college-aesthetic (i.e. push-pins on bare wall) that proper framing and matting is literally going to cost like 5-10 times as much as the print itself cost most times. Those stretched cloth type (like stick out ~1.5" from wall) can be cool too though, and sometimes more affordable.
