Blinge a Dumb Dumb

Post by Blinge »

New office chair. assembled it last night, backwards. (poor lighting, couldn't see 'front' etched into the black metal)

Can I take this plate off without having to hammer the gas cylinder out or any of that nonsense?
Image

I would try it but i'm scared to touch anything gas related after the chinese horror stories..
https://www.thefactsite.com/exploding-o ... kills-boy/

Seems like something one of you lot would know about. When it comes to practical things i'm beyond useless. (i'm fast developing a complex about it too..)

All google brings up is people hammering gas cylinders, no one seems to have my particular issue. :|

Burinju, by consulting official CCCP manufacturing standards, I've figured out a way you can save £££s - keeping the chair AND your health, pending an integral collapse Image

Y-yeah but the chair will blast your ass rim from rim like Chinese kid's D:

It's about small steps, you don't hit the big weights first day at the gym! Image

If the hole is wide open and gaping, then this bolt from the blue will go straight up and disembowel me.
If I have a steel-rim of defense I might be able to mitigate some damage instead of this open door policy.

Btw the chair is fucking fine, fixed and all is we-

I did the same thing on my chair. I have just lived with it. The main difference is the handle for raising it up and down is facing the wrong way. I can still access it. Not that I use the function often.

Yeah i was hoping this thread would die now.. ;]
I couldn't live with mine because with it the wrong way round the angle felt funny/ was tilted forward slightly and there was no way to adjust it backwards.

turns out i could just take the bottom plate off and the whole unit decoupled.. made sure the fucking cylinder was fully extended before doing so
