Tron Ni Kobun Issue

I know this isn't a shmup game, but I have no idea where else to ask for help for this game and people here seem fairly knowledgeable. I recently acquired an authentic Tron Ni Kobun (Japanese version of Tron Bonne) disc for the PS1, I am trying to run it on my region free chip modded PS2 (I don't know what chip mod specifically it is), and when it starts it gives me this screen - https://ibb.co/Fqn37nS

Can anyone please explain what the issue is and what to do to fix this to be able to play? I have pressed all the buttons, made sure I am using a PS1 memory card in slot A with nothing saved on it, rebooted the game multiple times, and I still can't figure it out. I can even read a little bit of Japanese, but since the characters are the same color as the black screen it's near impossible to understand what's it says the issue is. I can't even imagine a native Japanese speaker would be able to read this and know what to do. I hope someone can let me know, I am trying not to spend $100+ on the English version. Thanks!

I haven't tried Tron Bonne myself, but it looks like it has anti-modchip protection. There's a Gameshark code to get around it: https://www.cheatcc.com/psx/codes/motb.html

That is really bizarre that they put a specific anti-region free mod chip protection on the game. I have never seen that before. All of my other Japanese PS1 and PS2 games play fine without this issue. I guess I will just have to go ahead and get the English game for the insane ridiculous price. :shrug:
