Shmups Members Missing In Action?

Post by TWITCHDOCTOR »

I can think of at least a few Shmup-o's who I haven't seen here in a while...

Undamned
8 1/2
Salaman
Shaper MC
Llabnip (Pinball) Ohio "Radiant Dave SilverGun".

I know there's more...

Are you guys going by different names now, other interests?

I think llabnip got busy with his own life. I live pretty close to him and we got together a few times, but he seemed pretty preoccupied with other matters.

^Yea, so did I, but I'm not sure how often he posts over there.
I'm not a member...I really don't mess with the internet that much anyway.
The only places I post at is here at Shmups.com and GameFaqs.

I'm a video game junkie, not an internet junkie.

I thought llabnip was posting here, but under another name now...

And I remember 8 1/2 begin pissed off about something... can't remember now.

I think we may have lost a few members because of the time we were down...

As far as keeping track, we've gained more active members than we've lost in the past 6 months.

I thought Mode7 sold off most (all?) of his shmup collection. Perhaps crushing all of us got old.

I chat with ShaperMC through LiveJournal. He's still doing shmuppy stuff, just not so much anymore.

Mode7 sold off most of his stuff (even his beloved Guwange PCB) several months ago. I read that he wanted to "move forward with various aspects of his life" (I'm most likely paraphrasing here). Perhaps he got serious about his music... or maybe something esle...?

Undamned is my friend who lives just a mile north of me. I think that after all the problems with the old board, he got used to not keeping up with the forum here. He's had some busy stuff in his life lately, but I'm sure he'll be back here eventually. I think he may be reading the forum, but hasn't bothered creating his account yet.

Undamned has an account, he hasn't made any posts with it yet though. Whenever/if he comes back he owes me his impressions of a game he bought which I asked him about some time back, heh.

We're missing a whole lot more than just the few - I remember a few - JM, Quantium G, Alteka, but it's hard to recall with the old board gone. But yeah, we have a lot more members since the new forum was established, which is surprising to me. I thought the downtime would hurt, but instead a fresh new forum actually enticed lurkers to post, it seems. Was the old board that intimidating? There's a little more fluff to the boards now, but it's not bad, and the new life and energy in the place more than makes up for it.

As for Mode7 - I sort of recall him taking up Unreal Tournament? If he is playing competitively, it can take up an enormous amount of time - I know, I was there once (with a different game).

Oh, and where's Kosh? *grin*

Undamned posted last night in the Ibara thread on click's BB.

I miss all those posters' contributions. Especially 8 1/2, Matt and don't forget Grant.
