most of the people on the Gamespot forums are idiots! I was trying to find a topic post claiming that Monkey Island was in developement for DS and they are rambling on like morons. One person was taking about how the 2d sonics are inferior to the Sonic Adventures

I don't doubt the authenticity of your experience Captain Ahar, but I've been treated a lot worse here for simply ASKING about a game.

UFO i agree with you whole-heartedly. grim fandango is probably my favorite game of all time. but monkey island is still an incredible series.

story: when my brother first bought a PS2 he couldn't find a memory card. while he was away, visiting family in spain, i rented Escape from Monkey Island. i would have to play through the game each time i wanted to tackle some new puzzle, and i don't recall getting bored (that is something).

also, i realize that Escape is far from the best in the series, by the way.

Well, I give SA2 one thing, it looks amazing in VGA. Too bad Sonic Team completely stripped everything out of SA1 that made it great.

Then they stripped things down even further for Sonic Heroes.

And to be on-topic, the first Monkey Island game was released in the US on Sega CD. It wasn't a bad port, just missing colour (expectable, considering the hardware). The loading wasn't too bad throughout most of the game.

Cool, thanks for that info Kiken! I'll have to pick it up for my X'EYE. I remember when the game first came out for PC, and I was pretty impressed with it then.

Yeah, the US graphical adventure ports to the SCD (Willy Beamish and Monkey Island) were surprisingly decent and not minute-long loading affairs. Even the d-pad cursors felt alright.

Sonic Adventure 1 is excellent. Mixes free roaming and old school on-rails speed from the old games very well. Too bad I lost my SA disc, I need to buy another one.

SA 2 is good also with very action packed stages (as long as you are Sonic or whoever the evil hedgehog is), but the camera and the lame Tails/Robotnik mech levels just kill it. There's something about SA1's overall presentation and polish that is just better. SA2's crap camera makes it feel like it is forcing you to view it from one perspective.
