users with free accounts, photos over 1000 pic limit will be removed
I hope that you, folks, dont store precious shmup and/or pcb pics over there (or if you do - have them under 1000 or have "pro" acc)
Anyway i freaking hate when stuff like this happens. Archivist inside of me screams in pain when i think about how much rare shit can get forever lost. Like some abandoned profiles of whatever japanese photographers or people who scanned vintage magazines or etc. etc.
Also game screenshots, i remember cool groups who did them well

Re: flickr gonna kill archives
i'm letting mine get cut. I only post on Flickr to then link to other sites... I guess those links will become dead. in the instragram era it's just not that relevant (to me anyway).

IG is still not a choice for many people due to a) image compression and resolution cut b) total lack of albums and any other organization/navigation c) they make sure you have to use smartphone app, web version for pc lacksinstragram era

Yes but (for better or worse) market share. It's not for everyone, but the reasons you listed for Flickr don't bother me. I only upload low res stuff as I don't want people using them if I can prevent it. If it was for archive PCB images... another story.
