Analogue´s Mega SG

Post by gbaplayer »

Hello,

anybody here interested in the new sega console from Analogue, called Mega SG?
It is available for pre order and i wonder if i should preorder it now or if i could wait until february or march.
Is there an e-mail adress for contacting Analogue? I can not find anything on their homepage.

1080p?
I certainly hope there will be a scanlines option.

EDIT: Read the page. There is. :)

keep in mind that subsequent firmware releases will likely allow you to load roms directly from an SD card. No need for an Everdrive.

I said it was likely. I know that because the last two consoles from Analogue (the Nt Mini and the Super Nt) did this.

check these links:
https://www.usgamer.net/articles/analog ... -snes-mini
https://github.com/SmokeMonsterPacks/Super-NT-Jailbreak

also read this quote from Analogue boss and Dodonpachi superfan Christopher Taber:

"The Super NT also includes an SD card slot, ostensibly for firmware updates; however, shortly after releasing the NT mini, Horton released a jailbroken firmware unofficially, which supports ROM playback and, most notably, new “core” support. After 12 releases, culminating in the 2.0 firmware, the NT mini simulates everything from the Atari 7800, the Sega Master System, and the original Game Boy to lesser-known consoles like the Channel F and Adventurevision. Horton’s decades spent decoding the intricacies of video game hardware found a readily available home in the NT mini, and the Super NT should be similar.

When asked if the Super NT would get the same jailbreak treatment, Taber demurred but finally said, “We don’t really discourage anyone to do anything with our products. You can do whatever you want with it. It’s not up to us, that’s not what we’re in the business of doing.”'

and in the end it's a huge sales argument in favor of the Mega SG, so Analogue won't pass on that chance. Now even more that with the MiSTer FPGA a possibly good alternative is available and if the MiSTer let's you load roms, while the Analogue unit doesn't, it would drive more and more customers into getting the MiSTer instead.
