So those Japanese SS releases sometimes are naughty as you all know. Below are some age rating labels found on SS games (thanks to Satakore.com for the images).

So it looks like the yellow ones are less strict than the red one : just "recommended age over 18", while red is "X rated, over 18".
Many many games have the yellow label, for some, the reason for the label is quite obscure. The ones with the red label are obvious though : Yakyuken Special, Super Real Mahjong series.

Of course, as a good Saturn perv' fanboy that I am, I will now start collecting all games with red label

Don't get too excited... most of the content in them is quite tame. Always found that rating system weird in Japan when you can walk into a nationwide family video chain and rent a skin flick with a woman being sodomized w/ a broom. Not joking.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has a CERO Z 18+ rating. Even then, it is censored from the ESRB M 17+ USA one. Gore is toned down & there's no nudity.
XSEED's US X360 version of Samurai Shodown Sen is region free, but there's no gore/dismemberment if it's played on a Japanese console.

Japanese developers really try to avoid getting that Z, due to the stern regulations placed on games with the rating.

The game Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki Gokuraku (listed and pictured above) received a Red X18 rating, for some reasons ?

The only reason I can think of is Ryoko, and even that is pushing it. I was surprised to find out that Shinobi Legions still has the cutscenes in Japanese with subtitles.

Also, I'm a big fan of the Suchie Pai series. Jaleco kept their production values high throughout the entire series (they managed to get Kenichi Sonoda to do character art in every game) and by implementing a series of cheat powers, they kept the 1-on-1 riichi mahjong fun and intense. Great sprite art and animation, excellent voice work and consistent gameplay mechanics.

The Red Label Suchie Pai series all have topless nudity. Once you beat a character at mahjong, they lose everything but their panties. Later, when you earn enough points to bring them into your party, there's a sailor senshi-style transformation of each character which starts out with them in the same state as after they had been bested. Get through the whole game and Kyouko's mystical mahjong powers wear off, leaving her topless.

Then there's Miyuri's room....

@GuiGui: Is the disc art the only difference with the Ps Club editions? It's hard to find info on this.

The Tenchi thing was rated for nudity based on the PC release of that disc but was cut for the Saturn release is what I have read.

Disc arts and codes are not the same for sure in the P’s Club versions of Super Real Mahjong. I guess there may be some differences in the extra contents as well, but hard to say because I’m not sure I have the whole content for all titles. Will check once I have the opportunity.

Quite an impressive collection! Those P's Club editions of the SRM games are not so easy to find.

On the other hand, there are some mahjong games, where the regular edition is somehow harder to come by than the special edition, e.g. Mahjong Gakuensai.

So actually, the spine cards are not the only difference, the one on the right should also include the card.

And sure, the right one includes a card. But what does the "first run limited" means ? Is it some kind of limited print that was released at the same time than the regular print, with a card as a bonus ?
This would be strange considering how easy it is to find compared to the left one.

I’m not sure what the details behind it are, but I’m guessing the one with the card was the pre-order version.
