He was one of the more highly advertised "alive but won't be in the show" original cast members. They asked him, and he declined. I find that a bit bizarre... I mean, A-listers lining up just for cameos and this guy can't spend 6 months on a revival of the show that made him? Surely it would have made retirement a lot easier. To each their own I suppose.

The best story though, undoubtedly, goes to why The Arm is now The Evolution of The Arm. Can't make that shit up.

BTW, in episode 12, was it the first time in this season we got to hear the classic Twin Peaks string music, as Hawk ascended the stairs to the Palmer residence? And what was that commotion inside? "Just something in the kitchen" seemed strange considering how off put Sarah Palmer looked. In fact, she was kinda scary.

I've realized that what changed since the 90's is that I find the characters and situations in the show aren't that much more odd and fucked up than those IRL today.

I believe so. Other throwbacks in episode 12.

-Let's Rock complete w/ audio sample that played when Coop found Chet Desmond's car with "Let's Rock" written on the windshield
-Original Theme
-Extremely disconcerting score from FWWM (I call it backwards elephants) when Sarah Palmer loses her shit
-Shout out to Chet Desmond (still crossing fingers he gets some closure)

Understatement. She is one scary looking motherfucker.

I've still got my hopes up for Bowie appearing close to, or during the finale. I think Lynch is one of the few people Bowie wouldn't have turned down, even if he knew he was seriously ill at the time.

I heard that the reason actually was that he was busy shooting the Blackstar and Lazarus videos.

I couldn't fucking believe it. That fucking song, again. It drove me up a wall when I heard it the first time, way back when. I know my sister hates the song too - I can't wait for her to watch it; preferably with me watching her reaction.

This was, surprisingly, a "lol not much happens" episode. I am starting to really wonder how things will wrap up in 5 hours' time. Kudos to Dougie for foiling his 4th assassination attempt. This man is unbeatable.

The girl crying over the song was hilarious

I'm almost starting to believe on Audrey's coma theory, just almost.
But I heard that she only recorded two quick scenes, so I think it's the end of her story.

:?: :?: :?:

-The exchange between Mr. C & Ray gave us a lot. We know (or are lead to believe) that Jeffries wants Mr. C dead... and probably a lot more. The whole "I never met him" bit makes me think Bowie indeed was not filmed... even though his character is about as major as an off screen character can be. I know he's not listed in the credits but I was hoping for an ace up the sleeve... and will until the end.
-Richard is also in cahoots w/ Ray's posse... he's not just an asshole on his own.
-Nobody is actively trying to kill Dougie (at the moment).
-The cops threw away the most obvious thing that would have brought Gordon Cole & Albert to Vegas to find the real Coop (and was postulated ad naseum as what would definitely bring at least the FBI & Dougie at a cross roads -- and Lynch waited 3 episodes to do it).

There was definitely a lot of setup, but the Audrey scene and even the Sarah Palmer scene I think actually served a purpose.

In other news, the rocket scientists at Sky Germany aired Episode 14 last night, and a lot of people are up in arms. A friend at work popped into a thread and saw "at least one thing I really wish I hadn't". So, be warned people, that there are spoilers out there, and I would ask we use the spoiler tag if we're going to use them in here.

I only read a very top-level, super general adjective about the episode:
Spoiler
It's apparently nuts. A "helluva episode".

I like very much the Sarah Palmer scenes, I wish my english was better, to explain why.

Dale is lost in another life, Ed's not with Norma and Audrey married a very strange man and doesn't feel like herself. I think Lynch wants to tell that the future isnt what we expected to be. It is all like a highschool reunion, when you see how everyone changed and some not in a good way. At least thats the way I see yet. Maybe thats the point of Audrey's plot.

edit: almost forgot; I'm 100% sure that is just a matter of time until some movie rips off Mr C character

I believe it was actually the second time - the first was in one of the early episodes when Bobby sees the picture of Laura Palmer.

We seem to be on track for this, and I'm still loving it. Dougie Jones is the best shit on TV, especially now that Naomi Watts is perpetually gushing for him at this point. Fucking hilarious.

Maybe he declined because he read the script? :P Don't get me wrong, original Twin Peaks is great, I always put it in my TOP5 series ever. But the new one is ... well, quite frankly, terrible, in most cases. It's pretensious, it's too Lynch-y, it's boring.

So maybe Ontkean wants to stick to the original that he - perhaps - loved? I believe that some thing should not be continued, "sequeled", remixed, touched at all. I don't often say that it should be this way - but Twin Peaks is a perfect example of original piece of work that should not be touched ever again - 'cause you can't create something genius like that again.

That was my little bit of hate - now you can hate on me. :P

The only other person I know that shares your sentiments that I actually someone trust (or did once) is a friend from high school. We used to go raving. Now he hunts and collects big ass guns... so yeah...

Was that a plate of creamed corn on the foot stool next to Sarah Palmer's sofa? Why was she watching a loop of that boxing match?
The starting position is much more comfortable.

Also:
Spoiler
Pretty sure Audrey's still in a coma.

Finally managed to watch episode 13. I was enjoying it. The opening was great with the arm wrestling, the Philip Jefferies mention etc. It was ok, not a bad episode... But yeah, that fucking song. Of all the James call backs to make Lynch chose that song, the whole damn thing. Fuck me. My whole perspective on this series and David Lynch was thrown out of whack for a while there.

I had to laugh when it started up. I wasn't laughing by the end of it.

Poor old Ed. What the hell happened. The moral of this story is don't be an Ed, be a James. Who knew?

Favorite post in a while on /r/twinpeaks is someone asking everyone to stop the wink wink episode 14 spoilers b/c "we all know you're cool like James and have info we don't have..."

It was a strong episode... thoroughly enjoyed. Even the James bit, but I enjoyed big Ed eating soup even more.

It is! She's feeling a lot of rage, it seems. Episodes ago she was enjoying herself with scenes of animals being eaten by predators, if I remember correctly.

Also, Cooper saw something in the boxing poster, like if he had a glimpse of something that would happen, and we know that something will happen in Sarah Palmer's house. Its the same when he was in tears looking at Sonny Jim, because he somehow knew what would happen with the boy that was killed by Richard (If you don't believe me, the music same music plays in the moments).
