Yep. Pretty much agree with the skyward complaints.

If you believe in the alternate universes theory then I think the particular quirk of our universe is that the Zelda series can do no wrong.
Is this whole planet insane!? >_<

wii motion controls ruin almost every game they're on, especially action games. sin and punishment 2 probably being the only exception. I couldn't get through either okami or Metroid prime three cause I hated the controls. although with Metroid I just hated the tacked on stuff like constantly having to yank doors open etc. the actual moving and shooting was good with the wii mote.

Majora's Mask is overrated crap just like Earthbound.

Nintendo is cancer. So are Pokemon and Amiibos for that matter

N64 had stronger hardware than PS and Saturn, but the lack of a CD drive held it back in some ways. It was the first console to use trilinear filtering, which did help avoid the pixelation found on PS/Sat games. The GC did have a CPU + GPU advantage over PS2, but not the original Xbox. I think with Wii, Nintendo concentrated more on motion control than on making a PS2->PS3 like jump over GC hardware.

IMO, Nintendo should follow the other guys' lead and stop sticking to that outdated region lock BS. Sony & Microsoft are doing fine without it.

The triggering.... so easy.

Again... just in case any Zelda twats remained unchaffed from the first bucket of sand.

Majora's Mask and that other Zelda 64 turd blow chunks.

I fart explosively on Nintendo, Wii U, Pokemon and Amiibos.

Even though I agree that most Nintendo games on the Wii were overhyped to the moon, they did put out some quality stuff, albeit they were few and far between. Some good examples below (as usual, YMMV):

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is one of my favorite Wii games. It's a solid, strategic SRPG with a great battle system, above average difficulty and the typical well-made UI Intelligent Systems is known for. I might be a little biased because I'm such a FE whore (since it's my favorite franchise), but... eh.

If you liked Tropical Freeze, DKC Returns should be right up your alley. Retro did justice to the series on their first try, and they give the classic games a run for their money (even surpassing them at some points, I'd say).

It may be the weakest game in the trilogy, but I consider Metroid Prime 3 a well-designed and a very good Metroid game in its own merits, despite being a bit too linear. Amazing locations too. It gets bonus points for being one of the rare legitimate (good) reasons to use the Wiimote on first person view. This is coming from someone who doesn't enjoy metroidvanias at all (with Metroid being my exception to the rule, I guess).

Never cared for their region-locking and censoring, so I don't see myself playing any of their games this time around. The only Nintendo gaming I do is DS.

Don't, I've played them and many things that outshine them. The N64 is garbage.

No. I don't like Uncharted, but I'd rather be playing a Falcom or From Soft game at this point myself.

The standouts of the series though (Majora's Mask, the Oracle Games, the first 3, etc.) are still amazing even today though.

I liked Wind Waker.

While I got everyone here -- fans and haters alike, whats the scoop on Skyward Sword? I think I've played an hour of games over the last year. Little time these days. But I wouldn't mind playing something over the summer here and there.

I think the only two first party* Wii games I played were Mario Kart Wii and Super Mario Galaxy (both disappointed sorely, hence so few), but if you are not trying to forget Wii at this point (as most vocal Nintendo supporters tend to), action-adventure on the thing I can recommend in 3D Zelda's stead is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (I believe it was inspired by GTA rather than Zelda, but it makes real good use of the hardware).

I can also recommend Dragon's Dogma (even the PS3 version) in Xenoblade Chronicles' stead, but either hints at directions where The Legend of Zelda series could seek rejuvenation.

It is coming from someone who did like Metroid: Other M (better than Prime Wii edition - not nearly as disappointing as the aforementioned two Mario titles, but I can't say I enjoyed it as much as expected).

*) Xenoblade Chronicles wasn't "first party" during its development, was it?

I'm quite pleased with the Wii games I've kept, mind, but I didn't buy the system for Nintendo-developed stuff to boot.
What I saw and read of Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 LOOK way more promising than Wii Mario titles to me (I even would be willing to put up with the Mario 64 voices again), admittedly.

I only played a few hours myself, but the control scheme hurt my wrist (especially the flying), the "dousing" (aka pixel hunts) didn't strike me as enjoyable, and I wasn't big on its plot, which struck me as padded to the max and having the candor of a Saturday-morning anime. I didn't even get to the first dungeon ;-;

To be fair, that's a very limited perspective; there are probably enough people here who played it longer than I did.

It's definitely the point where the series suddenly dropped in quality for the first time. That said it's not the worst Zelda game, many since WW have been surprisingly poor, especially the DS entries.

I think Oracles was the last hurrah for a series almost too perfect. Minish Cap is just ok, WW plagued with unfinished issues, Twilight Princess overlong and fractured, Skyward Sword don't know, didn't bother, Spirit Tracks sucking, ALBW a good LTTP reimagining that neither achieves its predecessor's charm or balance, and is far too easy.

The N64 games are too genius to beat really, I doubt we should ever have expected them to be bettered. And they never were.

I feel like I need to refresh my memory on ALTTP, WW and TP.. but ^ this mostly rings true. Though I really enjoyed Minish cap from about the second half on, it was a pleasant surprise.

I can't be objective about OoT so I won't bother. Spirit tracks killed a part of my soul.

Skyward schlong's visuals are about the only thing it has going for it. You could say some of the dungeon design is fun, but it's sullied by control issues. Then even if you're so used to the controls that they don't matter anymore, you have the amount of pace breaking sidekick interruptions.

The worst interruption is the game pausing to tell you what a deku scrote is (even opening up the inventory screen to point out WHERE IT IS) despite you already holding 99 of them. This happens with every one of the various crafting items each new play session.
Not save file - play session, every time you turn the damn wii on. It sounds like a minor issue but it's not, it takes ages.
I already know how to ride the bike, being forced to use training wheels now would be clunky and unenjoyable.

A western game would probably give the option to turn tutorials off, or let you skip text. Not our nintendo.

The only reason anyone pretends to like Majora's Mask is the hipster factor. "Oh hey, almost no one played this game at the time because almost no one had the N64 RAM extension, by [pretending to] liking this I'll look like a really hip and knowledgeable gamer!"

It's probably the worst Zelda game (although, admittedly, I haven't played WW, TP, or SS), and given the fact that Spirit Tracks exists, that's really saying something.

I didn't find ALBW THAT easy, especially since many of the previous games were also easy or a bit on the easy side. I found it to be more action focused and streamlined in some ways. Combat wise, it seemed harder than the last few games.

What's so hard to believe about it? The phenomenon of everyone praising "underdog" titles, whether they're rare, import-only, or done by a small developer, regardless of the merit of those titles, should be well-understood by now.

That's how we get nonsense like people claiming Rondo of Blood is the best Castlevania (luckily, this trend seems to have died since the game became readily available in the west), that Cave Story is actually good, that Majora's Mask isn't the worst title that Nintendo ever developed and anything other than a low-effort cash-grab, that a whole host of import-only jRPGs are any better (or even different) than the Final Fantasy titles, that Frozen Synapse is a brilliant tactical game instead of a poor Laser Squad Nemesis knock-off, that Gunstar Heroes and Alien Soldier are brilliant games instead of bad Contra: Hard Corps rip-offs, that Uplink was a brilliant game instead of a progress-bar simulator, that Nox was a brilliant western RPG instead of one of the worst Diablo clones ever, etc., etc.

Well there is something nonsense about this statement. A Zelda64 expansion pack is still head and shoulders above some of Ninty's other stinkers, including in its own respective series.

Ocarina of Time is one giant empty room where you push crates around for all eternity. A sisyphusian nightmare world.

There I said it.

A 10/10 masterpiece that'll render all other games obsolete for all time.
