Some good news internationally, the Brazillian Supreme Court invalidated Lula's trumped up conviction and he's free to run against Bolsonaro in 2022.

Was leading by double digits when the election was LITERALLY stolen from him by Lava Jato.

This "Jon Ralston" fellow seems a little salty. I guess the apocalypse hits earlier for some folks.

I've always been a bit confused at the people here who voted never on the Iran war. We've been told we're going to war with them all our lives, groomed and primed for it - why wouldn't you believe our authority figures when it comes to that? I understand if ya'all think we're all going to die in a fire or something before that, but the alternative love and hippy route from our empire isn't very rational.

I'm getting a little annoyed with Cenk and the TYT crew. This relief bill could have been better, no argument, but it was still a W. We certainly never got a bill like this in all 8 years of Obama.

I personally breathe a sigh of relief because the now tax-exempt status of student loan forgiveness removes a Sword of Damocles that's been hanging over my head for over a decade. And it paves the way to more loan forgiveness in the future.

Success breeds success in politics. Trump catapulted his dumb ass all the way to the white house on a lifetime of cultivating the image of successfulness alone. If progressives don't claim this W, the neolibs will. And if we waste this moment going all #fraudsquad, we're gonna suffer for it in the 2022 primaries.

Shyeah, maybe you believe that sort of nonsense if you've been programmed by the brainscream media's satanic psyops.

And you guys think webfiction about making numbers go up or being super horny all the time are harmful >_<

(It kind of bums me out that this Turner Diary-adjacent stuff shares any DNA with the story First Contact. It has human supremacy as a core precept, and a "superheroes and warhammer 40k are really really cool, you must respect the superiority of my superior nerd culture" kind of attitude.)

Might have mentioned this once, but back in 2016... I was dead serious about writing some Trump fanfiction. Let me check my txt's to see how far I got with it before stopping: ...aw damn it's on my other hard drive it'd take like eight minutes to transfer it over, but it was around 10 to 15 pages.

The premise was that he was indeed in conflict with the illuminati lizard people who rule the world (they always hisssssed at the end of sentences). But they had kidnapped his daughter (the good one that he cares about) to keep him in line. The story is basically a very bad very unfocused Taken (which I have never seen nor read a wikipedia synopsis of), where he bumbles around trying to rescue her. Written in a stream-of-conscious style of a tenth grader.

Reasons I fell out of interest in finishing it:

* The novelty wore off, fast.

* It was an example of that cartoonification of people I keep talking about. Having a Donald Trump be that cute humanized him, and... fuck that guy.

Interesting, Bryan! I tried my hand at Jeremy Corbyn fanfic once, researching the most bone-crushing judo holds and throws for the bit where he almost gets partyvanned by Mossad, on his walk home one night - their fatal error being that while they're very good at eye gouges and nut shots ala Krav Maga, anyone with sufficient conviction can do those - and while I was pleasantly surprised by all the cute girls doing MMA cheesecake shoots nowadays, I was also hitting A LOT of gay porn! Those guys looked mean! :o Anyway, I had to call it a day, as it was around this time he did get partyvanned, metaphorically-like, and it got too depressing. Image

You know, you can't do an open border, right? Trump was overzealous, but you really can't open it up.

Duh. If you have a path to citizenship, they will keep rushing to the border. I also don't understand why we can't label the conditions of migrant home countries with appropriate and descriptive terms. It's a double standard. If I suggest making a coherent policy with set limits, the first thing the idealistic people do is describe their home nations. If it's insulting when I say it, why are idealistic fools allowed to say it?

25% of the world's entire population wants to live in America. That's too many. Need a different strategy.

Might also get rid of "merit based" immigration. You're letting India choose winners (obviously men). Their culture doesn't give women a fair shake. That's a choice. That's consent. Complacent consent is still consent. Probably need a lottery system. If these geniuses can build amazing companies at home, more power to them. The current system doesn't align with our values. If you say it does, then you have no real values. You'll need to shut up about feminism, because you only support it when it's convenient.

69% of the world's population has an idealized view of the US due to movies set in just four cities.

The borders are already open to capital, but labor is corralled in separate pens like farm animals.

Workers who stray from their designated pens are labeled "illegal" and used by capital to undercut "legal" workers. And if the legal workers get too uppity with their unions, capital can threaten to hop over to a separate worker pen where THEY would be the illegals.

You know you can't do a closed border and have any real labor power, right?

Ah yes, Dexter and CSI: Not Vancouver. So that's five core cities, with tertiary locations in Las Vegas and East Vancouver.

... I just looked up if Ghostbusters: Afterlife was really filmed in Kansas thinking it would be amazing if it was... nope. Midwest Vancouver.

One time when I was using Google Street View in LA or San Diego, I was awed by how new and shiny the location I dropped into was. New pavement, new buildings, new trees. As opposed to the old cracked broken mess that 99.9% of the country looks like. That red letter media vid on The Blob, filmed in An Actual Town, reminded me of what our country really looked like... 33 years ago.

That's stupid. With a fast path to citizenship for everyone that gets in, there are no fucking visas. There are no green cards. Everyone can unionize. Changing jobs isn't instant deportation if you're already a citizen.

That's a bullshit false choice. Set a quota and make them citizens.

Yes. But, I'm talking pure lottery. No more "merit based" selections. No more visas. I also support a fast track to full citizenship. People shouldn't have to beg and jump through so many hoops.

And, I cant actually accept everyone that's fleeing violence or bad conditions, because almost the entire population of multiple nations face those things. I'm not saying I'm happy about it, but I don't have jurisdiction over their homes and I don't have infinite resources.

Not to mention, I want universal health care. I can't raise the bar if I open the border. It's not fun to say out loud, but it's true.

Employing some type of merit based criteria I'm not opposed to in general. One of the ideas of immigration is ensure would be residents/naturalized citizens are not likely to drain the system. Japan started doing it a few years ago with from what I understand, success. (They still have plenty of labor from southeast Asia going through the same process but some steps are skipped). Saying we only take the top bar is... fucking stupid.

I will caveat it with it is apparently inviting of abuse. I won't say the majority of it, as I have no idea of the general numbers, but I've read enough to know it's not a one off. Employers should not have total control over their sponsorees. The US is fucking horrible with that. This whole "lose your job, find employment within 90 days or your out" is just plain cruel, and it affects immigrants of all economic statuses. It took me 120 days roughly between my last two stints, and I'm a charming, straight white male.

My apologies for getting worked up. Lefties call me a Trumper and Righties call me a senseless hippie. There's some middle ground here that makes sense. I'm so sick of everyone exploiting immigration for their own ends--and intentionally avoiding making a coherent policy to properly address the matter. Even people that acknowledge we need to follow the blueprint I suggest won't say it out loud, because they will get flamed and cancelled.

I'm a libtard to my righty friends, and of course GOP-lite here in this thread. :) One of the few guys I am pretty tight with at my new gig is a non-white, righty... but only became that way b/c he was sick of the left moaning so much. He's quite the character. And, pretty sharp at the job so we get along quite well, despite the differing opinions on most social things.

Everybody knows that vaccines cause autism, create COVID-19 when combined with waves from 5G towers, and allow Bill Gates to track you with embedded microchips anywhere you go. Target? Supermarket? Bingo Night? Bill watches you creepily every step of the way.

Literally 1984.

So Susan Collins has insisted that the "alternate proposal" the GOP put forward for the Covid relief package - you know, the one that gutted it by more than two thirds - was made in good faith and that she's dismayed that it was never seriously considered, since it undermines the level of trust needed for mutual cooperation.

Meet the fucking moderates, everybody.

ReasonTV just released a puppet video called "Libertarian PBS". Maybe the Gravel Institute has made youtube a more overt battleground for clickbaity propaganda to capture the normies. That was a good effort by them. Almost want to click it.

Apropos, today is the anniversary of the Iraq invasion and endless occupation. Colbert had edgy satire to say about it at the time.

These days he's making little videos of "aw schucks, wHy CaN't We JuSt StOp HaTiNg OnE aNoThEr?"

Limp. Useless.
