Not sure how you get to call people leery of seeking "common ground" with groups that openly espouse violent insurrection closed-minded while simultaneously dismissing anyone who supports any member of any major political party for any reason as a delusional, defective "S.S."

Let's be honest, he says whatever the guy feeding the autocue is told to write by Biden's handlers. Is this use of an old and somewhat senile man as a shield to be discarded at a later date more or less distasteful than the media fawning over him?

Other fun things to watch at the moment:

1) EU / vaccine drama - they're blaming everyone else for their fuckup at the moment. This is very funny after the song & dance made about how only they could effectively deliver it as a united Europe.

2) Gamestop stock drama. This one is just delicious. Hedge fund is really unhappy that someone essentially called on their gambling, bunch of guys on Reddit have cost them billions and this is "not fair".

Touché! However I'm still here responding to you instead of calling for you to be banned, canceled, and sent off for re-education. I don't think I gave anyone a hard time for supporting Sanders, certainly not the first time around.

But seriously, you should seek common ground, especially with people calling for insurrection. That's how you de-escalate. If you were a police crisis negotiator tasked with preserving the lives of hostages in a standoff, you don't call for communication to be cut off, right? You don't phone the perp and start calling them a nazi, right?

Different topic: does anyone remember that story about members of congress selling off lots of stock at the beginning of the pandemic? Ever wonder what consequences there were? Answer: none.

Eh no way there's like articles upon articles saying matrix 4 is real and coming at the "end of the year" (with the Hobo deal, there's even a chance of it happening unlike Ghostbusters and Evangelion)

Nobody here is calling for anything so much as resembling this, and next to nobody is calling for anything resembling this anywhere else. Get on with it.
But seriously, you should seek common ground, especially with people calling for insurrection. That's how you de-escalate.
You were expressly calling for dialogue with the goal of allying oneself with the insurrectionists, not de-escalating them, unless you think that one will lead to the other, which is a prospect I wish I believed far more than I actually do.

I'm sorry, I thought that was a puff piece interview with accompanying promotion on twitter.

Just when I thought I couldn't laugh any harder at the Proud Boys after Daddy pardoned every corporate criminal on the planet but not a single one of the "beautiful" Capitol rioters (an outcome which, of course, no one could have possibly seen coming ), even through their bitter tears of betrayal they have dug down deep and yet again exceeded my expectations.

I have no idea what you're talking about, so I'm just going to ask this: Do you want insurrection? Yes or no. And how do you plan to achieve that (insurrection or no insurrection) goal? Help me understand BM's version of the world.

Yes, since the exchange between us is of such a complex, hard-to-follow nature and my viewpoints on the issues therein have been so ambiguous. Get lost.
I like how Rep. Omar's post therein calling for a financial transaction tax was flagged as "potentially sensitive content."

In my opinion, they have now participated in brazen insider trading and market manipulation. We need the SEC and FBI to raid them ASAP. Seize everything. Get executive cell phones and laptops. See who they told. They are already guilty of insider trading, but we need to see how deep it goes. Prosecute them and lock them up for a decade or more.

Beyond that, it's time to end this ridiculous Reagan and Thatcherism. The real economy makes things and adds value, but finance exists solely for rentiers to grow fortunes.

sweet, tranners can join and die in the millitary again. joe biden is such a queen!! gotta stan him!! i fear we're still dreadfully off from the first trans person murdered by a trans cop, though. when will we know true equality?? the state misses so many good opportunities to indoctrinate all marginalized people into the system and keep us killing each other before we can unite and organize or even just be at peace with ourselves and each other, but at least corporations are good at doing their job for them. guess i'll plug a recommendation for the last ikuhara anime for working in a narrative about all that.

is chelsea manning back out of prison again? yes? no? i know she tried to kill herself while locked up again, last year. man, that poor, dumb bitch :[

Yeah, since last March. Nice of them to give her a break for a year.

Too bad they're just getting started on Assange. Richard Cheney is still free as a bird however, and I'm told is still on track to receive that immortality serum before he croaks.

How free is the "free market"? It's bullshit. It's rigged. Stopping trades is market manipulation.

Apparently, a member of the old rich white guy club must rape hundreds of kids to get kicked out--and only after the best efforts to save him fail. (Of course, the old rich white man club murdered that guy before he spilled the beans. The only way out is death.)

This seems to be a very weird point in time where everyone from billionaires to poor millenials to Bernie think Citadel and RH both should be caned. Unfortunately RH stands to lose more as a retail facing business. Apparently there's an article out there that says RH employees are fuming and the CEO gave them $40 in DoorDash coupons.

Yes. It's all coincidence. Reddit really did just enforce their normal policies as usual. Bullshit. Trades weren't frozen because The Masters of the Universe called from The Hamptons and demanded it. Bullshit.

Looks like there's also been a friendly agreement to allow that kind of overleveraged shorting to occur. Everyone in the good ol boys club agreed not to bankrupt one another.

It's rigged. It's bullshit. Keynes was right. Do what's right. Stop the Reagan and Thatcher neoliberal bullshit.

When it was time to ship middle class jobs to Mexico (while simultaneously driving wages down in Mexico and helping absolutely no one but rich stockholders and supermanagers), there was no "gentleman's agreement" to avoid bankrupting working Americans. Wall Street knew they could do a short squeeze on these over leverages, but agreed to *not* bankrupt one another. Rutting out the plebs is their charter.

Around the time the news from Myanmar broke, did anyone else hear a shout of "See?! That's how you do it, goddammit!" coming from a Florida-ish direction?

It's kind of amazing seeing Oil get kicked out of the dictatorship circle, they really must be nearly bankrupt and have no future in the rest of the ruling class's eyes. Watching a purge in real time is neat - good on Joe for uh not contributing more murder in Yemen that he helped contribute to in the past.

Thomas Frank was talking about all this last week - "Can you imagine Republicans without money?!" After Sheldon Adelson died, fossil fuels are the last pillar they have to lean on. After that falls out and the elites have abandoned them nearly utterly, SJW culture war stuff is all they have left. But as Frank says, how does that work without the money to cultivate it in people's minds?

You're getting mad that Lex Luthor decided not to start a brawl with Ra's Al Ghul and went after Bouncing Boy instead.

They won't. Meme candidates can only fend off late stage capitalism - in which there is no separation between bank and state - for so long. The bowel movement that is Trump will pass through their collective political intestine with the help of a state-level DA enema. Then they'll promptly get back to doing what they were in 2015-16, pretending to speak Spanish and being totally into Catholicism.

It's true that the politics of white grievance aren't done by a long shot though. Particularly as global warming is going to hit southern red states the hardest, both in terms of climate change and mass population movement from south of the border trying to get as far as possible from the equator. So yeah, they're going to have a tough time walking that tightrope, but the clear answer is to start reframing alliances; whiteness has always been a fluid category anyway. Light skinned hispanics and middle class-and-up people of East Asian descent make the most logical constituencies, particularly those of a Christian bent, and already represent their largest non-caucasian demos anyway.
