It's not that it can't be defeated at all, it's that you can't defeat it by voting for it.Almost like narratives that say the system is permanently controlled by an international cabal of child-sacrificing elites who cannot be defeated at all

Nobody is responsible for a virus. I am not a Trump fan, but it's difficult to hang every lost life on him. Furthermore, the lockdown itself is creating a ton of other health issues--and Obama/Pelosi have not supported single payer, so every loss of life due to no insurance is also blood on their hands. Every single lost life. Every one.
Grifters: one and all.

This is not a well thought through statement. It's pop quiz level cheap point scoring. And comparing Covid to H1N1 is as silly as comparing Covid directly to seasonal flu.Mischief Maker wrote:Trump has killed more Americans in one year than Osama Bin Laden managed to in his entire lifetime.system11 wrote:Trump hasn't even been wholly bad.
The only way to completely prevent deaths from a new virus is a complete lockdown. Even then, complete lockdowns have proven to not really be that effective in the long run hence all the "zomg second wave" panic in Europe now. Complete lockdowns kill people too, in a variety of wonderful ways like long term poverty and ill health, depression and so on. Destroying your economy is a really good way to hurt people over the long term. Loudly banging the fear drum and restricting or discouraging the use of health services pushes many conditions down the road, potentially to much more dangerous places. My sister and I both have private cover thank god, but even then in the last couple of months she had to wait months longer than usual to have an operation to remove a precancerous condition and I was kept waiting for a scan to rule out lymphoma. I'm still waiting for a different one too.

You're not fooling anybody.
And, what did Obama do to stop H1N1? Did he write a stern memo to the virus or something? Because, I didn't see anybody in a mask.
"Dear virus,
You are a baddie. I do not like you, you meanie. Stay away from America.
XOXO,
The Pres"

The travel ban in February was "racist", right? Here's my issue: Obama would have done the same thing.
You also didn't start calling Canada wild nationalists when they told Americans to buzz off. You said it was common sense.
I would take you seriously if you started making sense. You don't need double standards to highlight Trump's flaws.

Oh! My apologies, how neglectful of me to not talk about civilian casualties in foreign wars during a discussion of Trump's domestic Covid-19 response. Let's rectify that:orange808 wrote:Americans. That lets you conveniently dodge the military questions with Obama
In his first year of office, Trump caused more civilian casualties than all 8 years of Obama. That's a 2017 article, and the number has only gone up and up until Trump revoked the rule for reporting civilian casualties.
Also, Trump has killed more Americans in one year than Osama Bin Laden managed to in his entire lifetime.

And, that's what you're exploiting by selecting Bin Laden. It's a loaded talking point.
Who does deserve to be murdered? Tell me. Play your own game for me.
You brought it up. Answer the question.
You ignored your silly double standard on travel bans, will you dodge this question, as well? You also didn't tell me what Obama did to stop H1N1. You didn't answer anything.

Re: Prelude to the Apocalypse
When I say Trump got lots of people killed, I'm saying that's a bad thing. I'm also saying the fact that Trump killed more people than Obama indicates that Trump is worse than Obama. The fact that Obama is a lesser evil to Trump does not mean I'm saying he was good.orange808 wrote:So, who deserves to be murdered?
What is wrong with you that I need to clarify that killing people is bad?
I don't want anyone to be murdered, but my only two choices were Trump and Biden. Howie Hawkins ain't gonna pull this off. So when the choice is maximum murder under Trump or less murder under Biden, the moral calculus was clear.
Trump has killed more Americans in one year than Osama Bin Laden managed to in his entire lifetime, and that's a bad thing, not a good thing. Alright?

I dislike Trump, too.
Stop using loaded talking points. Stop moving goalposts. And, stop with the "body count" thing, because you can't really identify who does (and does not) deserve to be murdered. You can't convince his base to change and you alienate people that might listen.
Trump gives you plenty of low hanging fruit, why resort to a conversation about presidential administrations and body counts? Furthermore, using a terrorist in your talking point won't make your argument air tight or stop me from asking who deserves to be murdered. It's supposed to scare me silent, but it didn't work.
The COVID-19 response discussion shouldn't involve H1N1 at all. That was bananas. What were you thinking?

Have you read Kushner's comments? That's gift wrapped gold. You don't need these crazy talking points. Trump and company don't use dog whistles, they are banging trash cans! It's easy.
Here's my next question. Are you ready to stop playing nice? Because, there's no victories in bipartisanship.
If Dems win big, you immediately pack the court. Next, you feign outrage at your own actions, quote Republicans, and pass a law raising the bar for packing the court to a ridiculous level. You even quote the GOP as you pass the bill to stop yourself from doing it again. Yes. A coup.
You pack it and slam the door behind you.
You got the stones? Do the Dems have the stones? Because, you can't win playing nice.
Obama took over in crisis. He had a royal flush and he immediately invited Wall Street over and folded. What will happen this time?
P.S. Look! Foreign policy explained!

Nice try, but they only attempted to count 1 out of 7 of Obama's wars.In his first year of office, Trump caused more civilian casualties than all 8 years of Obama.
Remember how D-team wanted to withdraw from Syria and Trump freaked out and made up a BS story about how the Kurds would get genocided? And then D-team wanted to withdraw from Afghanistan but Trump fabricated a story about 'Russian bounties'?That's a 2017 article, and the number has only gone up and up until Trump revoked the rule for reporting civilian casualties.
Oh wait, I goofed. It was Trump who wanted to withdraw both times, and the other guys who were talking out their anus.

There's no shortage of false narratives and weaponised fake outrage out there. And, it pours in from every corner of the spectrum and every region.
Even worse: some of it is so toxic, we can't even discuss it--without significant risk to our well being.

Re: Prelude to the Apocalypse
Even if the Hunter conspiracy was true, all the way to a 10% kickback to dad, it would have still paled in comparison to how Trump's son-in-law went to Qatar asking for money to bail himself out of buying a money-pit highrise in downtown Manhattan (666 Fifth Avenue, if you can believe it). Qatar passed and Trump suddenly accused the country of harboring terrorists and supporting a Saudi blockade of the country. Then just as suddenly Trump stopped supporting the blockade and wouldn't you know it, Kushner had found some Qatari bailout after all!
And don't get me wrong, a crackhead fail-son using his daddy's name to get an exorbitantly lucrative job with a crooked oil company is some corrupt shit, but ever since Bernie dropped out the focus shifted to harm-minimization in this election and Biden's given no reason to believe he'd start a goddamn war over Hunter.
