But then Ocasio-Cortez spoke, [...] and I saw something truly terrifying. I saw just how easy it would be, were I less involved and less certain of our nation’s founding and its history, to fall for the populist lines they were shouting from that stage.

I saw how easy it would be, as a parent, to accept the idea that my children deserve healthcare and education.
I saw how easy it would be, as someone who has struggled to make ends meet, to accept the idea that a “living wage” was a human right.
Above all, I saw how easy it would be to accept the notion that it was the government’s job to make sure that those things were provided.

It's still incredible that she's like "I think people should die because I'm smart." A propagandist can't be intellectually honest, to the end. Worst people in the world.

Just like how those Mexican concentration camps are there to earn profit for a couple elites, then some wages for their inner cronies, then a harvest of tainted thetons for the base who otherwise get nothing from it. Interesting how human misery and Mr.Burns's bank account always go hand in hand, it can be no other way. Finance was supposed to be "less bad" than the oil industry. Tech was supposed to usher us into a brilliant exciting future. In reality, finance are still horrendous vampires that arguably provide less value added to the world than the oil tycoon royals. While tech wants to replace everyone with a computer. (Which didn't work out for Hillary's campaign. Worst computer ever.)

This week's whooper of a lie has to go to Mikey "Michael" Pence for swearing that he's never committed thought treason against danchou.

Politicians are so gross, no wonder no one decent likes politics.

Wouldn't you know it, the European autocracy just threw a wrench straight into the gears of the internet. I'm so glad that websites on Soros' bankroll were actively campaigning against this seriously damaging piece of legislation and not shilling for big tech to avoid paying up for hogging internet infrastructure under the guise of neutrality.

Don't worry, everything is okay. Listen to NPR, read the Washington Post, shop at Whole Foods, work in a patented Amazon cage, pay your taxes, and go home to whatever's left of the internet. Everything is fine.

Finalising vote, in Spring of next year?
You know what? I hope it gets passed.

This is one of those rare occasions, where The "EU" is forced to bypass the Fabianism that has served them so well. They are rushing to, literally, filter-out dissenting voices across Europe.

Mr. and Mrs. mainstream, is getting more demoralised, compliant and dumbed-down by the day but right now, there is still fight left in joe six-pack.
If this thing gets finalised in the current climate, there will be even more rebellion in the air.

Across Europe? Try the world. Do you honestly think Google, Facebook, etc. aren't going to comply with this? This is exactly the excuse they need to stick their dick in the internet deeper than ever. The only way your accelerationist death spiral theory comes in to play is if somehow these de facto branches of the intelligence community don't play along and cut Europe off from their services. Frankly, that's the only potentially good scenario that could come of this, which is why I don't think it'll happen.

Certainly, across the rest of the world and yes, the usual suspects will indeed "comply".
They have already had their test run of sorts in May of this year, in response to the implementation of the "EU's" General Data Protection Regulation
(the words "General" and "Protection" can safely be cut out of that 2016 regulation's title btw)

Cutting off their services to Europe is almost certainly not going to happen but it is also not needed for this legislation to have a powerfully disquieting effect within Europe, should it be passed.

Already, a rapidly growing number of even the most apolitical "Europeans", are becoming aware that the reality of what is going on in there respective Nations is being kept from them
as a matter of EU policy.
The sheer scale of this rising demographic, is likewise being grossly under reported. This legislation, should it be finalised, is undoubtedly going to expedite their malaise.
Of course, not passing it means an ever growing and more vocal online chorus of "deplorables". Catch 22.

I don't accept that mistakes are made at this level so, rationally, I cannot believe they will make the "mistake" of passing this.

It would be very "interesting" if they do pass it, though.

Fascinating video, on many levels.
Will it's exposure make a difference? I'm not sure.

How many Google users (and I am not referring to forum members here but to the general population) even know who Sergey Brin is? Or Larry Page?
Or their former "landlady", Susan Wojcicki? Or Susan's sister, Anne Wojcicki, wife to Sergey Brin.
Would the average Joe's brain, be able to process any of it?

Likewise, I suspect that even the majority of those who actually watch this video all the way through, will not fully grasp the many levels - psychological, ethical, social, of dysfunction on bold display,
nor the ramifications of same.

What hope, then, of the masses being equipped to grasp Google's purpose; Cultural Eugenics.

Hahaha, holy fuck the "Human Rights" Campaign is giving an "equality" award to Jeff Bezos.

I guess... if the right to pass out and die in a warehouse without air conditioning or toilet breaks for minimum wage is given out without regard for race or gender, that sure does make him a champion of some kind of "equality".

AOC is going to lose and Hillary is going to run again, aren't they? This is Hellworld, right?

So... can any of those jingo-spouting superpats explain to me why Trump is begging congress to give him money for the wall he was going to make my country cover, lest he shuts down the government come October? Come on, did you run out of votive candles to light to St. Ronald Reagan? What happened to all the energy and fervor you had two years ago? It's the same person you were rooting for back then, in a republican-controlled senate, after all.

I found the most value in the film to be the examination of all the players' histories. I'd not previously known about the past decades of activities among all these names we hear about in the press (and many more we don't).
I'd certainly be interested to hear about anything which is factually inaccurate in the movie. I don't know, I don't study this stuff.

The article you quoted just seemed way too fantastical to be true. I mean, sure, the DOD is God tier when it comes to financial waste, but $21 trillion unaccounted for? How many deathstars have we secretly built?

At worst, the Pentagon literally spent $21 trillion under our noses. At best, the Pentagon hasn't documented the numerous transactions of their annual billions well enough to convince us otherwise. Either way, it's something that even if we do ever get to the bottom of it, the damage has already been done, yet most people will never be aware that this ever happened in the first place.

It was kinda nice knowing you, albeit brief it was.

The Kavanaugh stuff is predictable as always. Word is that Kennedy wanted someone that worked for him and that's why they're stuck with this gooey man that could be swapped out for another identical monster in a second but they don't. But I don't think it'd matter much - these elite princeling pricks are all mass murdering rapists. So even if they had picked a female it's probable she gang raped someone too.

Holy fuck, finally finished the Kavanaugh hearings. When's the last time C-SPAN was ever this entertaining?

First you have the gut-wrenching testimony of Ford. Then the female prosecutor the Republicans brought in did such a shitty job trying to tear her down that the prosecutor started making excuses for herself on the record, "speaking in 5-minute increments isn't the best way to speak to a trauma victim, wouldn't you agree, doctor?"

Then Kavanaugh came on and things took a turn for the hilarious. I've never seen a grown man act so much like a teenage dudebro trying to lie on his feet. "You were in the 'ralph club' what does ralph mean?" "It's throwing up." "Is that from excessive drinking?" "No, it's because I always had a sensitive tummy and if I mixed spaghetti and ketchup I'd throw up!"

They started out with the female prosecutor questioning him, but she was doing such a crappy job the republican senators started questioning him directly, but Kavanaugh was doing such a crappy job answering that eventually from Lindsay Graham onward they just ran out the clock making 5-minute long speeches about what an outrage this was and not even asking a question for Kavanaugh to fuck up.

I expected Kamala Harris to shine, but it was Dick Durbin who I think did the best on the Democratic side. "So you've been falsely accused?" "Yes, I've been maligned and my family has been harmed and I have nothing to hide!" "So you want an FBI investigation to clear your name?" "Uhh... I'll... go along with whatever the committee wants."

I can't believe the Republicans are still barrelling along with this vote.

I'm sure Kavanaugh is guilty AF. His denial was a bit too angry, & also there were some crocodile tears from him. Maybe he should try acting instead.

Jim Carrey said that “entitled little sh–ts” such as Kavanaugh are given a pass because colleges “care more about donors than the victims of on-campus rape.”
Yeah, sounds about right. Spoiled rich boys like Kavanaugh, Trump, & Lindsey Graham sure do seem to stick together.

That EU Copyright Directive sure smacks of totalitarianism. Its Articles 11 (the link tax) & 13 (online platforms must police content for copyright) are the main evils. If I were one of the leaders of an EU member, I'd be ready to jump ship (Britain has the right idea... Cheers to Brexit, mates!). I've always believed the EU to be a bad thing.
The EUCD must fail. Axel Voss needs a stern rebuke. We don't need other world leaders getting similarly sick ideas.

Politicians suck because they don't represent the people. They care about money most of all, so the donor is king. Money needs to be taken out of politics. A good way to do that would be to ban PACs. Donations from individuals should be allowed, but with a hard cap of $75 per person a year so that the rich couldn't give more. This would be a nice way to cut the funding to parties. Good, because it would probably mean we'd then see less or no more of their annoying "attack the opponent" ads on TV. Let them mail out letters instead.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
