This thing again.

Democrats' electoral strategy seems to be "defeat Sanders and hope for another recession."

If your favorite person isn't on here, I am sorry.

I tried.

Without having the forum admin set the limit higher, our polls are unable to encapsulate even a fraction of our electoral system. As a stopgap some mandatory entries have been grouped together or been made genericized.

2018 Midterms Edition
20 Jan 2018

Midterms are upon us. By every metric this should be a repeat of 2006, where Democrats retake congress off reactionary revulsion at how awful republicans are. But what is the democratic leadership strategy for this year?
Spoiler

Certainly without the anchor of Hillary Clinton around their necks, it should be a cake walk. Just be invisible and it's a trivial election to win. But having people in power in the party who hurt the party every time they pretend to advocate for it, is not going to keep Herbert Hoover out of power for a long time.

Therefore, I encourage you to replace Bad Dems with Good Dems this primary season. Which is right now. Today. There are various organizations that aren't complete crap that have endorsed some.

I don't want to listen any more about the disgusting things the president does with his penis, about Russia being a country I'm supposed to be afraid all the time, about how "backwards" the parts of the country Corporate America sacrificed for profit supposedly are. Help make the stupid go away. Please.

Do you believe Donald Trump will finish his first term?

Bush: 2017 Edition
18 Jan 2017

Obama and Clinton got together, kicked reason to the curb, and made the impossible possible by getting their friend Donald Trump elected president.

A repeat of an old movie is to follow. The old team's back together to finish what they started. Time is a flat circle.

If we somehow survive this and everything else coming at us, we'll become Norway part 2.

For our Trump supporters who are actually happy about the ascension of this particular mascot of neoliberalism, I'll go ahead and keep the link to the Carolus Rex god-Emperor video here for your easy access.

Do you think they're REALLY going to repeal Obamacare now that they can?

Code: Select all

Yes, they're honorable men who would *_never_* lie, they said they were gonna, so it's going to happen 22% [4]

Obama: A Real American President Guy
8 Nov 2016

Yes, a whole bunch of this is going on. We'll touch on that when they pass the Burger King crown to the next sock puppet. In the meantime, it's that special time of year. That time that presidents pardon the other underlings who exposed themselves to criminal prosecution in the service of power. As all the political fallout will disappear into the wind, never to be tranferred to the next representative of the financial elite.

The very least he could do, is maybe give that Bradley Chelsea Manning guy a break. You know. The fellow who had fewer opsec violations than Hillary Clinton, but was mysteriously somehow prosecuted. Chelsea wasn't a literal Russian spy, just like Clinton wasn't, so the same standard should be held, right? Right?

Ah hell no, that bastard tried to kill himself so we tortured him so he'd try to kill himself again. America! It's the moderate thing to do.

Do you think there's a reasonable possibility (>3%) that Obama will pardon Chelsea Manning?

Code: Select all

Yes, I believe in hope and change! 12% [3]
No, I'm not a moron 88% [22]
* Turns out we are actually morons. Hope is, surprisingly, real. If you need another long hot take on Obama in your brain, I have one here for you.

___________

Trump: A real American Hero Dude

Isn't it amazing how he's doing everything he can to break the GOP by making them lose against a FDR/Reagan magnitude slaughterbath, and his supporters love him for it?? And they're oftentimes too stupid to even realize he's giving them a mercy killing?

The upcoming schadenfreude next year is going to be sublime.

In the long term, who is the lesser evil this time around?

Code: Select all

The Sex Offender 36% [39]
The War Criminal 45% [49]
I really can't tell 19% [20]

I mean seriously, back when he was doing the "Obama is a Kenyan who can't be president" schtick, I thought he was just some idiot. There was no apparent economic advantage in doing so. But it turns out I was the idiot.

He had a plan. A plan to enter the bowels of hell, to walk up to its rotting cancerous heart, and eviscerate the beast from within using nothing but his index finger.

A fucking genius. A fucking hero.

Considering the Democrat party candidates are full of jokes (except Sanders) I say let Trump do it. Actually I'll want a Trump vs Sanders.

Everyone was clucking like this in 2000, noses up in the air...we'll never know what a Gore presidency might have looked like, but "same club" or not I'm willing to bet, for better or worse, it would have been rather easily distinguishable from what we got under Bush. The decisions we make might not matter as much as we'd like them to, but they still have very tangible consequences.

Of course not, Democracy's just a doctrinal propaganda term - doesn't matter who you vote for the government gets in and we continue on with the societal decline.

Never.

He actually has this one weird trick to make himself competitive in the general if he actually wants to try to win the thing.

You clearly didn't just have your life changed by the health care/insurance overhaul that completly removed mechanisms that kept the sick from ever getting anywhere in life (against the other side that said we were free-er that way). We are one election away from having it all reversed.

If Sanders really gets in and brings free education to all what will you say?

These are tough fights, against a population so dumb they can't even see what trump is doing.

I want somebody to form a party called the "Not Shit" party. Their entire platform is based on not being heaping piles of steaming shit.

They have one policy: "Don't be shit."
They have one directive: "Do the thing that is least shitty."
They have one candidate: "The guy who's not complete fucking shit."

I'd vote for them.

I do like his "fuck you" attitude. Seeing as Im not a US citizen I can't show any support next year. Here in Canada we have a Federal election coming up this October and the US political debates get more publicity here than our own stuff.

If there were enough of you a candidate would be found to pander directly to you, then they'd do the complete opposite of what they campaigned on, when in power... like Obama and every other politician ever.

It might be entertaining to see said attitude directed toward others from a safe distance, but as someone who's had to put up with Chris Christie for the past several years I can attest that it's a lot less endearing when legitimate concerns with one's policies are almost universally met with a red-faced, spittle-laced "sit down and shut up, loser!" And it's even less charming when the proudest loudmouths are the first ones to accuse their opponent of "tyranny" and "unprecedented power grabs" the second the latter enacts (or even proposes) something they don't like. The John Galt fantasy has already turned corporate boardrooms into barbarian mud wallows, I'd rather not see it make any further headway into the public realm than it already has.

They're not all the same, despite similarities on the surface, the backgrounds, cultural influences, or circumstances, are too big, whether tagged 'left' or 'right' their positions and what they're looking at is sometimes so completely different accross borders (or era's) it's unbelievable to think some idiots even though about creating an European Union for instance.
But yeah they're all fucked up cunts whatever the case. Though locally, for the individual citizen, still better than having to suffer a unique party/despot, even if the frontier between the two is sadly slowly fading away...
