The article Brown wrote himself (or his faction's propaganda guys wrote and put his name on it) is what it is. (And I disagree hard with it that Trump's chihuahua made a mistake making a national profile for himself.) The only pure and honorable propaganda outlet is my newspaper that I distribute by throwing into people's lawns at night.

"Voting is for cucks" reminded me of all the stupid Basta memes we had going for awhile. Like most jokes it died long before he was sent to prison.

I hate when I write a long post that ends up being the final post on the page.

Just to reiterate, early voting and absentee ballot drop offs are starting all across the country. I dropped off my ballot today and it was quick and easy. If you're holding your nose and voting Biden, please just rip the bandaid off now so your vote is in the system and counted on election day so we don't open the door to a repeat of the 2000 election complete with a Brooks Brothers Riot to stop the vote followed by a coronation by the 6-3 SCOTUS.

And if you support Trump... CUUUUUUUUCK!

They don't start here in beautiful blue California until first week of October. I'm just gonna go vote early.

Question: do any states actually COUNT before election day?

The judicial hearings are always some of the most cursed TV to be made in all the land. You're at a job interview, they ask you "what would you do in the case of a propane leak?" You answer "I don't know, hire me and find out!" Not only do you get hired, they make you the company's vice president for the rest of your life.

Appeals to decorum are still just a different flavor of authoritarian propaganda. "We must respect the king even if he authorized the use of agent orange, he is a heroic man."

LOL... it's pretty laughable. Everyone either deflects or points fingers these days. I get it, that's mainly what they do but it's particularly egregious now, especially since the Republicans are getting called out for being that asshole kid in the neighborhood that would always change the rules of the baseball game halfway through.

of course there's all kinds of weird rules by states. Many can start early. I wonder if they'll broadcast them.

lmao. That is the most surreal part of this shit.
"Will you denounce white supremecists?"

Anyway, yeah, that was a shit show. I still think Biden's strategy, while indeed fugly, worked in his favor and he knew it. All he had to do was not look senile, and showing he could pander to Trump's bullshit achieved that. Doesn't mean he's going to win and I don't think he (or Trump) really gained any undecided voters (I think the pool is only 8 across the cuntry anyway), but if he believes the polls (and that's really all one can do at this point) all he had to do was tread water.

Really curious what the actual fuck is gonna happen in the next 2. I will have voted by then.

Hopefully he’ll bait trump into an explosive outburst.

His refusal with condemning white supremacy is so incredibly bizarre. He’s done it in the past, albeit there’s typically been a ‘but’ at the end and as we all know, anything proceeding the ‘but’ is bullshit. :roll:

Whether you prefer your cruelty naked or clothed has always been core to these things. There's always a big timeless philosophical debate on whether honest evil is better than denial that evil is even taking place. Stuff like W. Bush denouncing white supremacy while waging christian/capitalist jihad against middle easterners kind of rings hollow, imo. As does Bloomberg's stop and frisk bullshit, followed by his temerity in running ads this year presenting himself as a communist six thousand miles to the left of Sanders.

16 years of Harris or 4 more of Trump.. a grim apocalypse indeed. (I don't even think we deserve this and I hate humans. Why can't The Rock or Peewee Herman or Roseanne be our representative for the endtimes, instead?) It sounds like Biden did his best to try to fuse himself into Trump so they'd look like some kind of conjoined amoeba monster from a horror movie. Textbook democratic playbook. The "general election pivot" that always helps them lose the election.

For you normies out of the loop but still tangentially care about the election for some reason, be aware of the "red mirage" scenario. The margin is going to be so close that mail in ballots might actually decide the election. It could look like Trump is winning on election night, and by the next night Biden might have won by like 10 votes.

It's an interesting tenet to defend the system, yeah. Of all the ways to make people frustrated and angry, this is certainly toward the top of the most effective.

I don't see it being "weird" for our culture, though. There's a ton of christian dogma against having sex before marriage or jerking off. The purpose behind it is to similar ends.

It's like any of those many, many lies told to children. Where there's some rule that conveniently doesn't apply to the liar telling the lie.

(I mean, my god. "Lust is a sin"? How far away from "breathing is a sin" is that?!)

Wouldn't it be hilarious if she never gets that job at Fox she's been gunning for and ends up slumming it with Dave Rubin at The Blaze?

She does seem like a Jill Stein-esque blame figure for the liberals who aren't completely Bill Maherified. Wish you'all could have mustered 1/1000th as much hate for Liz. Do you not understand what you just did? Do you not understand what ends you have sown? Now I have to check the PragerU video page for the next year to see if that was fake news or not. It might literally kill me, just skimming it this once tore all my skin off. If I start getting PU recommendations in my youtubes, I'm going to be cross with you, Mischief.

You don't defeat bad ideas by giving them a megaphone. You didn't need my hundreds of preachy lectures over these sixty years to know this was true.

I do also chuckle at the "we need a third party!" people who're just clamoring for a worse DSA. We're so D O O M E D.

I know Hillary hated on Tulsi and it was the greatest public relations shot-in-the-arm Tulsi could have asked for, but check out the archives and you'll see that I was hating on Tulsi long before it was cool.

The American Left needs more international solidarity, and it needs a little more suspicion about fascist infiltration, or we're gonna keep gormlessly strolling into red wedding after red wedding.

Tulsi was defending torture and making apologia for the Gujarat pogroms and her friend Modi's involvement, while spouting islamophobic conspiracy theories straight out of the right-wing fever swamps. But lefty thought-leaders who had no problem attacking Bernie Sanders and AOC as "sellouts" when confronted with Tulsi's fash tendencies would rush to her defense saying, Why should I give a shit about India?

It's the same kind of dumbass leftism that has people praising Tucker Carlson because, "He says the elites are ruining society for 'regular people' and we need a type of socialism. A socialist on Fox news?! Wowy-zowie! He calls it 'National Socialism.'"

With this little international solidarity, and this much tolerance for fascists who skimmed a couple catch phrases to virtue signal as socialists, is it any wonder the American Left "eats itself" with depressing regularity?

Liz Warren caught me off-guard. But everyone should have seen Tulsi coming from a mile away.

* * * * *

They may sound a tad generic, but I'm a huge fan of Le Matos's brand of synthwave. They're the band that did the soundtrack to Turbo Kid, still to this day the greatest love-letter to 80s films IMO.

Despite the similarities to my beloved Synthwave, I can't stand the Vaporwave genre. I realize the point is to emphasize the hollowness of the 80s, but that's just depressing to me and I don't need any more depression in these dark times. Just my opinion.

Maybe all that is true but even I don't have the free time to research every single hobgoblin there is. Don't have time to fixate on the irrelevant; you were paying attention to this person with maybe 30 minutes of airtime on TV during an election year, and I was pointing at Liz going "hey she's going to run over Bernie", then she ran over Bernie, and now Bernie's corpse is laying in the middle of the street and festering in the sun. Let me search for the post...

Ok, Jan 2019 was when we had the first Warren spat. Also when we were laughing about the kickstarter border wall scam. Ah, such carefree innocent times.

I still remain of the opinion that there are people who'll never listen to a single word you say if you don't also hold Democrats in contempt, and it's better they get their propaganda with some appeals to humanity than the blood gurgling sociopaths that absolutely saturate the media. (The other day Buttigieg was spamming their meme that the soldiers who died in Vietnam "died to protect their country", which is factually untrue from an objective standpoint and more than a little racist to frame that this tiny, broke ass country could ever be a threat to us. I honestly managed to get through this entire election cycle without hearing him speak out loud once; such blessed times those were.)

Chris Hedges was very much NOT a supporter of Bernard Sanders, as he flat out won't even raise a hand to try to reform the Democratic party, declaring it impossible and a fool's errand. Anyone who associates with them is a useless or a sham or sheepherder, in his eyes. Chris is such an incredibly important figure in leftist media, that him not doing the meager action of shrugging his shoulders and saying "vote for Sanders if you want things to be a little bit incrementally better" certainly did more damage than Tulsi did. (But not as much as Warren, he's not that important.) I consider Chris to be a "purity fairy", the kind of leftist who doesn't really want to ever hold power because to ever have power means you're evil. I don't hate or obsess over the guy; no one's perfect.

I'm just saying there are a lot of people in the world with different goals. You have a huge selection of people to spread your beautiful hate across, don't get into a rut over one figure.

* * * * *

Damn it I still need to watch Turbo Kid. I'd forgotten it even existed. Just like I forgot movies existed!

I actually find Vaporwave a bit comforting; I kind of understand these people with nothing to look forward to in the future and view their childhood as a romanticized place of comfort. (Though my favorites go under different prefixes, as escalator music will always be escalator music no matter how much processing is applied to it.)

Now that I think about it, maybe I am some kind of demonlord for being so chill about the end times. Whenever I talk about the apocalypse to people in real life they're rarely as upbeat as I am to explore the forthcoming calamities. The eviction crisis is going to be a hoot; they really look like they're going to have lords evict everyone and pay the lords directly for lost housing rents, no more Bernie/Yangbux this time. So much misery and suicide would ensue.

It's not the misery I view as farce; just the knowledge that so much of it was easily avoidable with even a modicum of giving a shit about the long term by our overlords.* I've heard once that the official republican propaganda outlets have eased up a bit on the anti-welfare memes, because it's the only thing keeping everything from falling apart. I dunno if that's true.

I look at 2020 as being far better than 2030, 2040, etc are going to be. Champagne on the Titanic and so on.

* I know they couldn't do anything differently even if they wanted to. They're servants of power structures as much as the rest of us - ExxonMobil isn't going to put themselves out of business just to let people continue to live.

Well look, the internet is just a giant pillow that everyone gets to scream into because we can't afford therapy, and Tulsi doing her part to help bring about a Bush v. Gore 2.0 just popped up in my feed yesterday.

Warren fucked us harder, no doubt, but she's been keeping her head down and not doing anything to specifically piss me off lately.

* * * * *

I fear I may be overselling it, but Turbo Kid was my movie of the year 2016, it just hit all the right notes.

Turbo Kid 2 seems lost in development hell, but they did make a music video prequel: *HUGE SPOILER IN THIS, DO NOT CLICK UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE WATCHED THE FILM*

Herman Cain's timeline was 36 days from point of infection. Lots of optimism, right up until he died.

Authoritarians don't believe in showing weakness, there's low possibility this one's a sham. Clinton making a show of being hale and hearty after collapsing during a cool day, etc.

Perhaps one may have the power to screw the rules and shape minds, but that remains just that. It can't alter any reality that isn't a social construction. Royalty or not.

Doom awaits us all.

A strain of death corona ping-ponging from Cain back to Trump definitely feels like a sitcom plot that wouldn't be out of place on Arrested Development or such. If he dies it'll be another punchline of another bad year, Aristocrats style. I tremble at the horrors 2024 has in store for us.

Maybe we'll be running out of zinc sooner than I thought.
