Yeah Bethesda can suck a fuck. Games are ass AND run like ass.

Bloodborne not so much bugs as just overall performance. I made sure to say runs well in my initial post there.

I'm definitely hype for this one, Demons is my second favorite of their games (the first being bloodborne). I've never been disappointed by Bluepoint either, since their changes tend to be purely graphical and respectful of the original releases.

I'm also pretty hype to play Bloodborne again via backwards compatibility, hopefully locked in 60fps with faster load times.

Bluepoint is very good for sure.

They did the Shadow of the Colossus remake and Uncharted 1-3 Remaster among other things for anyone here that doesn't follow modern gaming much.

I will plat Bloodborne again if it gets another release.

Yeah that's a problem for me haha. I want more content in DeS :(

Look at Dragon God in the trailer. You know it's an absolute LIE!

I think it's obvious enough why Demon's Souls is great that you could make a pretty solid remake without From having to be involved.

The style is kind of different from the more "subdued" vibe you usually get from From Software games, but it still looks very solid from the teaser. I probably won't play it, becuase the original game is already great as it is, but I'm glad that it's happening.

Quite surprised it's PS5 only - though they've undoubtedly grown in popularity, FROM games are still hardly system-sellers, I'd have expected this to be PS4/PS5-enhanced.

While I'd love to see it, I wouldn't trust anyone to make it other than From themselves. But, I'm satisfied letting From keep their focus on Elden ring while Bluepoint puts Demon's Souls back online for us with a new coat of paint :)

I agree with this, but it's on PS3, a console that otherwise has no reason to exist for me. I can actually just throw all my PS3s out now.

Not so sure about this one. Look at the monster/boss designs... they've been incredibly westernized and have lost a lot of what made them slightly 'disturbing'. Now they look more like boring, western-designed, blizzard-esque monsters.

I didn't get that feeling in the slightest. The designs that were shown looked like the originals to me, and I just replayed DS a few months back so it's pretty fresh on my mind.

Look again, the difference is obvious.

I don't understand how it illustrates your point, your picture is just more detailed and otherwise the same basic design? Hell if anything, the new one looks more disturbing, the original is kinda goofy even.

I dunno if the designs have changed, but the lack of murk and digital Vaseline is disappointing. Currently playing the Dark Souls remaster and it's a little too clean, but this looks on a whole other level. It would be nice if there's an option to wodge some of it back on, like M2 provide on their ports with the scanlines and suchforth

Yeah they look really similar, and a lot of it can can be mitigated by just setting the brightness as low as it asks you to at the beginning. Uprezzing is always going to change the character of the game somewhat, even if this is a fetishistic aspect.

Knight, mainly strength, HP and stamina, bit of dex maybe to wield certain weapons? Sorry to not be more specific

I did find my list of Boss deaths if you want to rake through:

Tutorial 1
Dog thing 0
Tree 3
Crystal Sage 2
Deacons 1
Abyss Watchers 1
Wolnir 4
Pontif 0
Yhorm 4
Aldrich 7 (this one was orrible)
Dancer 1
Old demon king 0
Dragon Armour 11 (favorite boss by far lol)
Final bosses 8

Definitely not a no-miss superplay, though I definitely died at least 20 times to O&S and 4 kings each in DS1. This list doesn't include the 10 odd times I died on the knights in the cathedral before the pontiffs, for example.

Now playing the remaster. Definitely easier than the first time. 'Stuck' on the gargoyles despite leveling up my axe. I don't want to get in another scuffle, but the way I play these games definitely means I have a harder time with 1. However I am playing them at such a low level I don't think you could read much in to it.

I will try to ignore the listing to save future me from having a bad time.

Was it sword and board? Or two handing mainly?
Big ol' STR weps? or like, medium size longsword etc?

another scuffle? nah i just, can never quite decipher what you're saying. Although now you're actually using up-to-date experiences I'm more inclined to listen..
Are you fighting the Gargs unlocked, for the full range of motion?

It illustrates my point by affording an example of the obvious difference.
If you can't see the difference... I... I don't really know what to tell you.

Obviously, as remakes of games from previous generations occur, an increase in fidelity is going to put the responsibility on artists and designers to 'up-res' and fill in the 'gaps' of older designs. In this case... I am not a fan.

It's FROM SOFTWARE, not Blizzard.
It's Demon's Souls, not Darksiders.

I swear i've seen another soulslike just like this? With the same isometric angle.

How are people getting on with soulslikes anyway?
I've been meaning to play many of them, but haven't touched one.
( oh i guess you could count Hollow Knight )

Was gonna give Let it Die a go.

Did anyone play Lords of the Fallen? Keeps dropping to around three quid on Xbone and PS4, got to be worth a punt at that price?
I played the opening hour or so I think, if it remains a decent cover version I'll give it a proper go.

All I heard is that The Surge (from the same devs) is a much better investment. I bought it quite some time ago for a similar bargain price, but never got around to starting it...
