When I was going through the area with the fly monsters in the painted world it set off my cat this time. Immediately went into attack mode looking for bugs.

How’s it going so far?
As for SP allocation...you can’t really go wrong with STR as a primary unless and until you personally identify another stat you want to target.

Haven't had a chance to play a whole lot, but it's going well! Love it so far. I've been sinking a lot in STR so far as it seemed wise since I haven't come across much magic yet. I always just get nervous with first runs and stats, ha.
I quit the other night after exploring everything within immediate reach to my knowledge. Went through the entire jail area and what was through the doors/under the grave. Can't recall the worlds atm, but hopefully that makes sense.
Took a jump off the stairs and immediately got wrecked by the laser plants and would up stopping there. Assuming that's my next location.

Although it feels like there's a lot you can do wrong in Shadow Tower, I think it's impossible to really screw up. The game feels immensely threatening, as is From Software's forte, but it's never that difficult. The worst thing you can do is probably missing out on some cool areas or monsters, so try to explore every nook and cranny.
I think the most trouble I had was doing the very early game when my resources were still sparse.
well yeah it's obvious to people that actually continue to play the games
oof i tried not to post that, honest ^
Oh nooo hit a snag on my pure sorcery all bosses DS2..
Blue Smelter takes pitiful damage from sorc. So I'm gonna break my own rule and use a hex on him, Dank Orb.. but the problem is I have not enough faith to cast it reee. Sl180 and i need to put 5 points in faith...
oh wait, soul vessel. nvm lol.
I'm dumpstering everything on NG+. I did a bit of a weird path, at least not very normal for me to make sure I completed the quest line for Sirris while still being able to invade Leonhard. Overall I think I like DS1 more, but DS3 is a lot more polished.

I don't even remember who all was involved in that discussion but yeah I'd say that's a fair assessment. If you've played both enough to have an opinion (one time is not enough) I think it's hard to ever think 1 is more difficult. I think it's not terribly difficult to SL1 DS1, DS3 otoh...
A lot of DS3 is really satisfying though imo once you get into the groove.
I am curious about the three newish bosses, but I'm not feeling it just yet.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Wait what? Damn it...
I think you only fight them in the boss rush mode.

lmfao, any recommendations?
He did it as soon as possible. I don't remember exactly when but I definitely killed the guy on the horse first.
Basically I just search twitch by the game. I found some guy(servyserv) last night that was struggling with DoH. Watching the rest of the vod, he never really did figure out the charge attack. He ended up not beating it after going at it for 5 hours most of which was fighting DoH.
My first play through I went to Hirata early, had to go back way later to get Mist Raven.
When I played Sekiro back at the start of Covid I used whirlwind for the entire game. It's almost OP. That was the run I learned to parry Snake Eye's grab too.
I'm probably rusty as fuck now so..not feelin' the dlc just yet either.
I think my favorite thing about Sekiro is how on your first playthrough it is arguably From's hardest game, but by NG+5 it's From's easiest game.

I legit never got to grips with whirlwind and gave up using it early.
I love how we had those different experiences even in a game that people hold up as suffering from lack of customisation.
I need to get back into Sek and some FromSoft stuff but Let it Die has kinda sucked the life out of me.
My buddy colour_thief has been playing Dark Souls blind for the very first time. He's about 25 hours in & streaming his playthrough on Twitch @ https://www.twitch.tv/colour_thief

I swore I wouldn't do this....
Ordered Sekiro
Picked up a cheapo PS Pro to see if I can play DS3 at a decent frame rate (apparently hovers around 60fps)
Realised I've never done a magic playthrough of ANY Souls - prob gonna fire up the original.
