His Tumblrisms and Tales From The Hugbox videos are worth a watch, though (as Jim himself stresses) their subject matter has been beaten to hell and back in the six years since. Tales of Trout is a fine look at Very Serious Internet People coming undone.

Trying to unearth dastardly tales of his shady past is exactly what got Sargon pilloried, and all because poor Jimmy laughed at his ill-fitting suit.
oh, not trying/hoping to unearth stuff on the guy. just sayin' : something aboot him seems to rub me the wrong way. from the short exposure I got to his vids. can't put my finger on it. but I'll give his content another go sometime.

Edited my post with a few recommendations (at least the stuff of his I've enjoyed in the past), and of his more recent stuff, this is good for a laugh imo. HOW 2 WIN ELECTIONS Image (oho, I see you've quoted them, smooth ninja move )

No one likes Brigandine BIRo-san. I'm a huge fan of the genre and couldn't be bothered to finish it.

LOL at this saga. I'm no fan of that Sargon guy but this is hilarious, and justice was served I would say.

Used to watch a lot of Metokur in college a few years back, mostly his documentaries on Lolcows.

He always struck me as being overtly smug, other than that I never really had a problem with him.

Also he seems to have some kind of connection to Super Punch out or something?

Ah, the smug. Image Rare synergy of label and tin. What better moniker for the aggressively ignorant? Circumspection, introspection, charity - these are the tools of racism. My Lived Experiences™, and the colour of your skin, tell me all I need to know! Obviously you are a racist. Obviously, you owe me damages. Obviously, I'm right.

Wait, what? Forty grand?! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Full text of the decision if interested. I guess both of them came out ahead.

https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov ... 7.52.0.pdf

Reminds me of professional wrestling. I know it's not completely fake, but it's not really genuine, either. Can't say I care for either of them.

People making a living yelling their opinions over the internet--as if having opinions about stuff is a unique or special talent (it isn't).

Grifters one and all.

Just watched a short video on your thing BIRRU. This is amazing

The plaintiff kept thrash talking the accused online while the trial was going on, stating her goal is to ruin him. Huge fucking n00b mistake
All that stuff brought back in front of the jury as proof of malicious intent LMAO

Quality television, for sure. Especially liked the judge's remark on frivolous intent "usually" being hard to determine, except in this case... Image

Yep very good TeeVee! *popcorn emote*

I'll echo what Boss said : justice was served

It's obvious to me that this person suffers from narcissist personality disorder. These people can never admit that they are wrong, because they think they cannot ever be wrong, EVER. She fits that syndrome to a tee.

I mean JFC, take some responsability

I remember when this was a prevailing message in anime. Honestly the lack of responsibility/accountability is the root of a lot of problems...

I'd consider myself a staunchly left-wing democratic socialist, but I had to quit that site for my own mental health. The mods there were just making the rules up as they went along, and half the people on their off topic board gave off this vibe like they were repressed sadists starving for their next fix. If they could project anything onto any sentence, then that was what was 'really' meant. There was a thread about a cam girl in an abusive relationship, and I caught a ban for posting "That's awful, I hope she can find herself in a better situation." That's it. The ban notice just said "Making negative generalizations about sex workers." I had no prior bans/warnings on my record, and the mod who sent the ban notice couldn't even be bothered to note how long it was.

That was when I realized the people moderating that site were not smart enough to be making decisions about my posts, so I just left and never logged back in. After a couple of weeks I started feeling much more mentally healthy; I had been spending way too much time on that site, and I realized just how much their dialogue of nearly everything being a cancelable offence with an ever expanding set of rules translated to me getting paranoid IRL. I was thinking the people around me were thinking the same way (I'm around a lot of leftist types so some of them are, the others were just confused when I voiced my stresses). The online stress magnified anything that happened IRL, because it felt like part of the same continuum.

I tried NeoGAF for a couple of days, but I couldn't stand reading that site. Too many legit psychos using "free speech" as a moral cover for saying deeply awful things about people. I read a thread where some guy was telling a sexual assault survivor to suck it up and shut up because he didn't want anyone to criticize Kobe Bryant or something. It's wild to think that's what was lurking under the covers on that site, given that it was almost like ResetEra is now before the split.

Yeah the internet is a weird place. I feel like people act online in ways they never would in person. It's also an easy outlet for rage, disappointment in life etc

I remember someone pointing out that the belief in technological change was so attractive, due to the fact that efforts to improve anything through political means have completely and thoroughly failed. That does apply here:

Material matters are actually important to this kind of group, the problem is most humans have zero material power - we live in a capitalist dictatorship after all. Materialists have made their peace with the apocalypse - those who are left are powerless people trying to feel empowered.

Anyway, thought policing works: You've seen what the churches have done.

Two of my favourite internet professional wrestlers, Brianna Wu and Cenk WWWWR, are starting a new tag team! Image

Is REBELLION PAC! Image

By total coincidence, Brianna's hated nemesis CMDR Stryker also collaborated with Pac. That could get awkard. :o

Image

This will surely go well! Who would have thought the internet could be so fun? Image
